Having been to about 13 festivals, I've missed the last three in a row and am as gutted as ever. Gorillaz & Snoop Dogg look fucking ace on the BBC coverage.

lots of people who thought gorillaz were terrible, no chemistry with the crowd, etc.
Having them on in this format is just wrong iMO, don't have any alternative suggestions or anything but the whole point is that they're a cartoon band and this fundamental tenet seems to have been ignored from the footage I saw.
They were looking at CGI and projections and stuff but the whole thing was prohibitively expensive, and prone to going wrong. shame as this would have taken gorillaz to the next level. it just seems to have no context having damon albarn prancing around, snoop dogg walking on, guests meandering around, etc

Disagree but I know what you mean. The crowd problem is largely because most of their songs aren't stomp-along friendly.
They've ditched much of the CGI for their tour and seem to be concentrating on seeing how many musicians they can get on stage (guest stars or not). Can't blame them for enjoying themseves - I think this is going to be the last tour.
