Just got off the phone with Ticketmaster Vegas
I purchased 5 tix to Lesnar/Couture for 300$ a pop (+processing fees and service charges) on September 6th.
1st, ticketmaster fked up my address (I don't feel like dropping my address here but basically it involved thinking a French name was "River" instead of my street name) , causing a bunch of waiting time over the phone and wasted bullshit emails.
Then I got a bunch of emails saying that there was a problem with my Credit Card. When I talked to a service rep on the phone they said that there was no problem, the tix would be shipped shortly.
Then I won a cruise package to a donkament, making it impossible for me to go.
"No problem, I'll just sell the tix online."
Right?
Wrong.
I've been waiting patiently for the tix to arrive. Just got in contact with somebody over the phone after a million seemingly pointless emails. I first ask why the tix haven't arrived yet.
The agent tells me they were shipped on September 30th.
Ummm.... ok?
So I get a little worried.
"How were they sent?"
"Standard mail sir"
"So my 1600$ worth of tickets and commission fees for ticketmaster were sticking out of my mailbox IN A BIG FKING TICKETMASTER ENVELOPE?"
"Well sir, either that or they were sent to an incorrect address. I see that you had a problem with your address earlier."
(ok. fuck me. Oh well I'll just have them send them again right?)
"We're sorry. We can't print out a second copy of the tickets."
"Ummm. Ok... How am I supposed to sell them if I can't go?"
"I'm sorry. We'll print out a lost ticket voucher that you can pick up at the event."
"But I can't go to the event and I have 4 friends for whom I bought tickets... What are they supposed to do?"
"I'm sorry sir. The creditcard holder must be present in order to claim a lost ticket voucher."
At this point I kind of lose it. I utter a few expletives. I may have said Jeezus Christ. I also likely dropped an F bomb.
After I calm down and leave space for about 10 seconds of awkward silence, I say "I know this isn't your fault. I just hope you can understand my frustration at losing almost 2000$ worth of tickets because they were sent either to the wrong address or through regular mail and left hanging out of my mailbox."
The agent then says in a kind of enraged, barely controlled voice "I'm sorry sir but you'll have to refrain from cussing and saying things that are against my religion."
what? What?? WHAT???????????
At this point I just said I'd have to call back later because at that moment there was no way we were going to be able to sort things out.
WATTHEFUCK.
cliffnots : Ticketmaster fucked me over for a little under 2k in tickets. Customer service agent said that "you'll have to stop using those cusswords cuz they're against my religion."

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

Does the card actually have to get swiped/do you need official ID? You could always report it as lost and get one of your friends to pretend to be you. .

Yeah I buy all this type of shit on amex cuz they will hook it up and tell vendors to fuck off if they don't provide what they claim to.
if you did contact amex immediately and GL.

Remember these words.
Please escalate me to your manager.
Next time someone is giving you static on the phone.. use the words, and profit.
If the next person on the line isn't giving you what you want, escalate again.

The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?

QFT - I work for a CC processor. All you have to do is dispute the charge through your card issuer. Some you can do online, some you have to call and fax in a form. When you dispute the charge, just make sure you select because goods/services were never received. Visa will temporarily refund your money and then go back to Ticketmaster and require them to prove:
A) they verified all of your information before processing your charge. If they did not get your address 100% correct or capture the CVV (the 3 digits on the signature side of the card) Visa will tell them to fuck off.
B) even if they did get your information 100% correct on the transaction, Ticketmaster still has to provide proof of delivery and all that good stuff. So if they sent it regular mail without a tracking number or signature required delivery, again Visa will tell them to fuck off and you won't have to do anything else.
