Hey all - Me and a buddy have been doing some wagering on games lately and i pretty much suck at it. He does pretty well but his betting style makes me nervous - hes like that poker maniac who can go all in with anything at anytime. Right now I only have a little over $500 for sports betting - Is this enough to get started?

I am wondering 2 things: Is it worth it to pay a handicapper for picks? I found a place where you can buy picks for $25 - $35 and if they lose, you don't pay the fee. If you pay like $40 you can become a member for 4 months and get 20% off every pick you pay for - Also, as a member you get their "2nd best" picks for free everyday -

Is it best to follow the bonus' offered here? With the neteller closing and me being US, are a lot of the sites recommended even current? Is it worth it to go around site to site for sports betting bonus'? I know it is with poker for sure -

thanks all

1) Don't buy picks.

2) How do you plan to deposit without neteller? Let me know and I can help you out.

im not really sure - i got so used to neteller, i don't even know what other options are out there - I can use my bank account at Bodog. I guess I should open a firepay or something - what is the closest service to neteller? By that i just mean straight in/out of my bank account, no fees (for regular transactions) and widely accepted?

Yeah. This is a pretty cruddy time right now for the offshore gaming business.

Honestly, I don't know the best way to get money offshore right now either.

Firepay and neteller were the foremost services in tehir sector and both are not taking US customers anymore.

My advice is this: wait until a week or two after the superbowl. Lots of books may cave after superbowl's over, so it'd be much better to deposit after they caved than before.

Right now, I'd point you to matchbook or skybook (great for smaller players), but I'd recommend waiting before signing up (and if you sign up for skybook, e-mail me first!!! Referral bonus for both of us. )
