Good GOD!
Give up the "I just saved a bunch of money by switching my car to Geico" SHIT. I won't do business with Geico strictly BECAUSE of their stupid commercials. My friend is in Marketing, and he says they do this shit on purpose. That's crap. I'm injured, on workman's comp, so I'm up every night lately at 3am seeing all these new S H I T commericals before they hit the prime hours. It makes me feel sorry for myself just for the fact that I saw them. I'm a strong supporter of changing the channel, the only problem is, all the other channels are showing the same thing! Thanks for letting me rant. Take care, friends. I'm gonna go take a Lortab.

It's called good marketing. You now remember that Geico has those commercials.

To me, when I shop for auto insurance, I will now at least look at their rates rather than forgetting them all together and THAT'S what marketing is all about: putting your product in the mind of the consumer when he's thinking about purchasing a product that you might offer.

That's all it is, pure and simple. They just have the bankroll and the persistence to keep at it.

Contrast this with...oh...say "burger king", which dropped the "have it your way" catch phrase. What's their catch phrase now? Yeah, that's what I thought. Maybe that song "bacon cheddar ranch"...but I doubt it.

Or better yet, contrast this with Al's insurance barn. Do you know Al's Insurance Barn exists? When you go to look for insurance plans, will you consult Al's prices? I didnt think so. Case in point

Geico might have gone a little bit overboard, but it's much better to go way overboard than to not market enough; I'm sure that these commercials have and will pay themselves off several times over.

edit: but if you're just ranting, don't take any offense to any of this. Good rant. )

I don't buy shit from places with shitty commericals.

If you're going to waste X million a year, you might as well make them good.

Amen.

I was just ranting. But still, even shitty commercials do not entice me to call them. I hate paying car insurance anyhow. I think that's the one bill that's not done shit for me in 11 years. I know I need to have it, but I feel almost foolish each time I cut a check for them. Like their laughing as they sign the back each month. Oh well. I'm rambling again. Later friends.

LOL. Speaking of commercials, have any of you seen the Beer Tree commercial for Bud Light? That's one of the funniest commercials I've ever seen. Check it out if you want:

I don't believe it exists. Even if Al doesn't advertise for shit, he should still show up on google.
