I think it's b/c you can sit around longer playing shorthanded than in FR games, if you wait for 30 min in FR tourneys for reg. to end you'd play 6 or less handed for the first 2-3 levels which isn't what people who signed up for a FR tourney want to do.

i created all of the tournaments except 6m, cuz you can't create 6m in the client... for whatever reason, ps had 30 mins late reg for them. ask lee jones.
