Ok that was probably a tad strong, but seriously why the fuck is this world news? Because she's a cute little white toddler? Because she has a cute little new-generation first name?
I was watching cnn today and it was a live feed of shit about the Caylee Anthony case (she's been missing since june) and the ticker under reads "India: 20 dead in train fire" and "over a dozen killed in Turkey dorm collapse."
I guess those people weren't cute or white enough. Or maybe its because coverage of a dorm collapse in Turkey doesn't instill fear in the white well-to- do demographic that their little children will get abducted by a Puerto Rican at any moment.

i have a 1 time rule for missing children cases. some are pretty interesting in terms of legality, but for the most part its the same thing. i feel bad for every one of them, but i don't need/want to hear about it every night. ZOMG CAYLEE'S MOM WAS OUT PARTYING ZOMG. sometimes i just wish news commentator's would just come out and say what everyone else is thinking....that the mother is an irresponsible cunt.
renton - they just pick the most photogenic children i think. its actually kind of funny, cause i asked my dad about this the other day too in relation to caylee. that was his response, and it makes sense to me.

havent heard of caylee, but it sounds excatly the same as the madeline case. she smanaged to get something like 120 out of 365 front pages of the daily express. very fucking night she was the top news story. they wopuld just make up shit every day liek accuse her parents of killing her repeatedly despite being the most absurd accusation ever. even todays daily express has a madeline banner over 15 months on, on the front page.
re. the race issue, its a race issue because only a middle class white toddler would get this much overblown media attention. its not because of racism necessarily, its just the public wouldnt give two shits if it wasnt a white middle class toddler / the media wouldnt be able to spin it up to such a massive story

just because something is ethnically influenced doesn't make it racist. if white girls get the attention its not because theres some distaste with any other ethnicity. change caylee into a black girl and popularize it and it would still be popular. the large large majority of americans like other ethnicities. however, a white girl (blonde and cute too) will get more coverage i speculate due to the reason that the type of emotions hit on with these situations are very parental and protective, and its much more natural for the large majority of viewers which are white who have experiences largely with white people to feel a greater sense of protectiveness for a white girl simply because they can more correctly subconsciously think that the white girl could be their own girl.
not to mention that what the media believes and decides to do plays a hudge role. i believe that the media incorrectly feels that they must cater to the audience more specifically than they need to. like they think that they should cover only accidents that hit home because they think thats all we'll care about, but i think that they are only playing it safe, that if they put as much effort into covering disasters not even related to americans but simply related to the human condition then there would be as much american attendance. however, its much harder to cover something like the rwandan genocide than 9/11, so that plays a role.

fwiw, i feel that a lot of his ideas are archaic. i donated money to his campaign and i would do it again, so dont take me wrong. however i feel that he could have been a quasi-disaster, but i also feel that i dont understand political sciences nearly enough to speculate with any accuracy.
anywho, as one example, i feel that the constitution is in a few ways outdated. it was written during colonial times when transportation and information was very slow. it was an excellent idea then for state governments to take as much of a role as they did, but not so much now. im not saying its bad, but that its much more questionable.
even something like the second amendment. it is very clear that we have the right to own guns, but how important is this right now? it used to be mega important back then, but it just simply doesn't seem to be now. iirc a big if not the biggest reason for the amendment was because britain tried to control the states by keeping guns out of their possession. well thats just not how it works now. first off postmodern europe is more progressed than we are and afaik they dont have guns. second, if we were to adhere to the meaning of the second amendment then guns like that used in hunting and firing ranges do not serve the purpose. back when the amendment was written it was musket vs musket, but now if the feds try to run us over our shotguns and glocks and rifles wont do shit because they have tanks and aircraft and night vision. so to adhere to the amendment correctly we should have militia with those as well, not just desert eagles.
not to mention that being overrun by the government in postmodern civilization will take on a very different method than it used to. 1. revolutionary war was essentially two nations warring, not civil. the civil war was even much like two nations warring. cannot forget how hudge the US was back then due to travel speeds, and that is a most important factor in keeping peace and uniformity. 2. the people are the government, at least moreso now than ever before. it could simply be that the installment of a democratic or republic it self eliminates the need for a militia to defend itself. the states were not fighting against a democracy, but a monarchy, and we should be aware that peace will only be found when the last king is strangled with the intestines of the last priest.
having said that, i am pro gun, i just like to call things what they are. if it was possible to secure our borders the way that some european nations can then i would be more appreciative of anti-gun policy, but even then im pro gun because guns that kill people are either illegal guns or owner accident, for the most part.
