See my post here:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...sb=5&o=14&vc=1

Here's what I propose:

Each site chooses a set number of players (10? 15?) to participate in a private no limit holdem tournament on PokerStars. The buyin would be small to make sure everyone can participate, let's say $10 or $20. The entire proceeds would be donated to a worthy charity, possibly the same as the tsunami relief tourment was. (GrannyMae, would you like to take care of this part?)

"Winner" would be determined by total prize money accumulated by either site.

Alternately, we could assign a certain number of "points" to the top X places, something along the lines of say 40 for 1st, 25 for 2nd, 15 for 3rd, 8 for 4th, 6 for 5th, etc. We could work out some kind of distribution that works out for everyone.

Maybe we could include some kind of fun side bet, something like changing the losing participants' home page or location field in their forum profiles to the URL of the winning site.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

So what do you guys think, would this be fun?

Tyler - With all due respect, I just read thru that entire thread on 2+2 and I can honestly say that we would just be wasting our time with them. I'm sure one of them will read this and the whole thing will probably flare up all over again, but after reading that thread I think they just proved themselves to be the pompous assholes that we all thought they were in the first place.

Your efforts to put this thing together would simply be wasted on them.

this is only going to work if 2+2 actually takes it seriously.

Meh. Maybe I'm the eternal optimist...I still believe in stuff like "having fun" and "being social." Whatever though, if it's just going to be an e-pissing-contest then never mind.

The "Any Given Sunday" theory (The natural variance of poker) will cuase the stakes to be uneven between the boards. We have a lot less pride at stake. Unless they can just play a tourny for fun, they'll never go for it. And I don't think they're capable of playing for fun.

Also, where'd they get the idea that we're all weak-tighties. My response is always raise/bet more! I'm seriously just a bot with a random generator to alter my maturity and assholery levels from post to post and just tells every to bet.

Some people are a wee bit 'over' confident with their ability there.

But if this matchup does go ahead, I'll be up for it.

I read the post and it seems like it has just degraded into an insult fest again. I think we should just leave it alone.
