River Rock is awesome. Really nice 24 hour cardroom. Does anyone know about their SnGs? They probably suck, but I wanna try one out. $55 is the lowest buyin I think.
If you're thinking about coming, you should probably buy your ticket pretty soon; Labor day weekend probably isn't super cheap.

Thanks man.
And Miss Courtie what's with all this Friday night bed wetting? You know what? I'm not impressed. Friday is the night to be there because we're all going to get so wrecked no one's going to have the time or energy to be fun with you the next day. Actually, for this offence, I'm cutting you off. I'm done carrying you. Next time you sign on to MSN and I appear to be offline, I'm actually not. You've been blocked. Except Friday night of course, I actually will be offline. I'll be sitting around with my fellow FTR'ers and we'll all be laughing and telling our best Courtie jokes.

So I just got back from Amsterdam a few days ago. Hung out at this "coffeeshop" called the Bulldog. I found out that there's one in Vancouver also, anyone know where that's at, if it's cool, and any interest in checking it out?

so yeaaaaaaah, i am free any day, but i would like to know the day cause i have other plans that have not been set in stone yet, but i'd like to know when i get home from maui on wednesday if possible. Friday, saturday, sunday, anything is good for me i just need to know soon.
I've never been to any of them, but i know there are a couple of pot cafe's in vancouver. One will rent you a vaporizer for 5 dollars, and you bring your own weed. I know there is one near broadway and commercial, but it may have gotten shut down.

So it looks like we're definitely doing something on Saturday. I'm not free on Friday, so I won't be at anything you guys might decide to do that day. Talked to Xianti last night though, and we're definitely on for Saturday. So that's the day if you wanna see me!
I'm also going clubbing on Sunday, so I suppose that's an option for anyone interested and not able to make Saturday ...? Xianti and Tyson are here until Tuesday I think.

I have mobile phone numbers for courtiebee and Sykedupp, and am waiting for a PM reply from Blinky, who also would like to meet up with us.
maxxscam... too bad you can't hang out with us. Next time, buddy.
Bmx? I just PM'd you with my cell number.
I'll have my laptop with me in the hotel, so I'll check back for PM replies. Let me know how to contact you guys before Saturday.
Who else will be joining us on Saturday (at least)?

Hey, everyone.
We're here! Tyson and I, along with 5 of our (non-FTR) friends from home, are staying at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel. It's at 1088 Burrard St... at Nelson, I believe.
We had a late dinner at Cactus Club Cafe last night, then just walked around Robson, checking out the scene. Ended up at some bar across from the Republic (after waiting in line there and getting impatient).
What is there to do around here???
We want to go out tonight. Not sure what we're doing yet. The waitress at Cactus Club suggested a few places:
Bar None, Shine, Opus, Republic, Ginger, Tokyo Lounge.
What shall we do? And where can I get some pot? Granville?

Glad you guys made it in safe. I dont think I can join you for tonight unless its just for a little bit, despite my VALIANT efforts I was unable to get out of work tomorrow but I'll have saturday night to hang out with everyone so that'll be cool too. Give me a call anytime and let me know your plans for tonight/tomorrow and I'll tag along. I'm not a great decision maker and I dont know alot of the clubs around Vancouver Ciry (I'm about 45 min drive away from the actual City) So dont look to me for decision making

Only one I'm familar with is Opus. It's in Yaletown which is where the yuppies live (or, people with more money than common sense). Dunno how busy it will be as it's the long weekend... anyways, you can find yourself a nice high-maintenance girl there.... probably can find a cougar or three there too, if you're into that kind of thing.
Most of the nightlife is concentrated on Granville Street, but you probably knew that.
If you're up for the beach, check out Kitsilano Beach (Kits or "Tits" beach), though I doubt it will measure up to SoCal quality.
I do not smoke pot - hate the stuff. But... I believe there is a Marijuana cafe somewhere on Hastings or Pender street around Cambie - not far from the cenotaph. Ask around though as that area is very near the poorest neighborhood in Canada. And, like I said, I don't smoke weed.

Those clubs DO suck. Shows what Cactus girls know.
Caprice is very good. Plush is good too. Other than those, nothing else really stands out to me ... I really wanna go to Aubar because I hear it's good, I keep never getting around to it.
I've never been to Tokyo Lounge, but an ex bf of mine used to always go there, and if he goes there, it can't be any good
Hmm. If you're looking for a conventional club, Caprice is a good choice. Another thing I like is that on weekends, you gotta be 21 or older to get in (although it does make it harder for me to get in seeing as I'm only 20 ... minor detail though!).
If you're interested in a really weird club, go to Blarney Stone. Some people hate it, some people love it there. It mostly plays rock music, but then they have a live Irish band that comes out periodically and plays Irish music. It can be fun.

So...
Yesterday, after a late breakfast, I managed to find out about Amsterdam Cafe. Got some weed from some guy standing outside it. Probably paid too much, but it was some good shit. I bought way more than I can finish during this trip, so I need to leave some with someone here. Let me know if you want it.
We walked around a while, ended up in Gastown and had some more drinks at a little pub called Deighton's Well. Walked back towards our hotel and gorged ourselves on sushi at Tsunami on Robson (place with the sushi boats floating around the sushi bar).
Afterwards, we were too full to drink anymore, so we passed out for a few hours back in our rooms.
Got up at 8:30pm to go out again. We took some advice from the bartender at the hotel bar... "If you want to go ouuuut, how aboooot Shine in Gastown?" Okay. Cool. Got there just as they were opening the doors at 10:15, got our hands stamped because there was no one there yet and walked around the corner to 50 Bourbon St. Cool joint. Played some pool there, then went back to Shine. Music was okay, but the people there were cool. Tyson and I partied 'til they closed at 3:00am (our other friends turned in earlier).
We're planning on dinner tonight with all the FTR gang around 7:00pm or so. I'll start making calls late this afternoon.
We'll probably need a reservation somewhere, as we have a total of 12, I think. I don't know yet where we're going, so if you guys know of a good place we could all meet for dinner and figure out where we want to go afterwards, please post here and let me know.
Oh.. and tell me what color of FTR card guard you each want.

People from Vancouver, you need to tell me what you want to do today.
Do you want a pub, club, or lounge?
I'm assuming maybe not a club if we wanna all talk to each other, but it's still an option. I wouldn't mind checking out Aubar if that's the case. If not, I'll go anywhere except Atlantis, I HATE that place (I'm still stalked by a guy I met there over a year ago).
Pub ... I'm not so much a pub person, but there's lots of good ones. I wish we had a Foggy Dew in Vancouver, that place rules. We could go to the Trap and Grill (is that what it's called, I forget) on Seymour, that place is kinda cool.
Lounge lounge ... you guys ever been to Joey's on Broadway? That place is NICE ... not cheap though. But I wouldn't mind going there.
Rugby Club on Broadway would be cool if we just want cheap drinks and to sit around and be drunk for a few hours. Plus it's close to my house
Okay I'm done, someone reply and tell me. Aceofone, reply!
