FTR I need ur help quickly... I have half an hour
I know some of u are smart soo here goes
I am trying to finish my java homework. I have a formula
a = h - 32*t^2 /2
I need to solve for t
I cant seem to ge tthis for the life of me, yet it seems like simple algebra.
I came up with this
t = {square root of the whole thing} (2A + 32)/h
This is not working right, at least I dont think.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!

16*t^2 = h - a
t^2 = (h-a)/16
finally
t = sqrt((h-a))/4

Just a small tip for next time:
Reading this I wasn't sure if the formula was a = (h - 32*t^2 )/2 or if you actually meant a = h - (32*t^2 /2) which would change the solving so I'd suggest being explicit with the OoO.

yeah they dowhen it's easy to read in normal written format. When a formula is written in a string however it becomes more difficult to determine which OoO takes precedent such as in this case, ie is it h - 32*t^2 all divided by 2, or is 32*t^2/2 subtracted from h?
Even when I am writing out formula with pen and paper I will often use () just to ensure there is no confusion....actually it might come from coding where I do the same thing as well.
No biggie, just thought I'd offer a suggestion for next time to ensure people get full marks on their homework
