When I try to get on the forums, I get this message:
Quote:
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: User eproxim_Eric has already more than 'max_user_connections' active connections in /home/eproxim/public_html/phpBB2/forum/db/mysql4.php on line 48

Warning: mysql_errno(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/eproxim/public_html/phpBB2/forum/db/mysql4.php on line 331
phpBB : Critical Error

I also got this message when trying to go straight to the short-handed forum:
Quote:
phpBB : Critical Error
Error updating last visit time

SQL Error : 1053 Server shutdown in progress
UPDATE phpbb_users SET user_session_time = 1264401389, user_session_page = 45, user_lastvisit = 1264369368 WHERE user_id = 5435

anybody have any idea if the forum slowness or other problems would be fixed by locking the mega threads (and starting new ones obv)? thats what they're doing on a different large forum, and saying it helps with performance

It shouldn't. If you look at the URL's of the mega threads you can see each page is saved as a separate HTML file. So it's not like someone looking at one of these threads being viewed requires some large d/l.

ftr has been oddly very slow for the last month i'd say. today i cleared my cache like everyone recommended, and now it's fine.
