for sure it has to be the High Roller Mikey Mang, michael1123

some late night words of wisdom from Mike pretty much won my seat into WSOP. He also made the strongest FTR showing ever anywhere by placing high ITM at the main event... wow. he is the mang man

what they all said

Fnord showed me that once you fix all the major leaks in your game, limit is a cash cow. I became a better limit player than NL even.

Radashack and Ripptyde's posts, and just general play style showed me to recognize the "golden" moments where your cards don't matter, and how to get deep into MTTs.

Michael1123 for showing me how to REALLY crush a cash game, even at low stakes, the smart-maniac style can work. I remember leaving a 25 NL game with $146, I busted 6 people from my card rush and trying his play style.

also, rilla's bankroll advice saved me from going broke numerous times.
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately

Soupie When I first came to FTR the focus was mainly on ring games both limit and NL. I alway had an intrest in tourney play.....both SnG and MTT and he literally showed me the light. I firmly beleive Soupie took a large group of decent poker players and created money making champions of them.....all out of the goodness in his heart. We all had our individual talents and varying degrees of raw talent and he patiently worked with us and brought out the poker player within....which in many cases was an exhausting endeavor for him
While he may not spend a whole lot of time here answering post after post, he has always remained loyal to FTR and it's members.... if you seek him out and are serious about developing as a player he will always lend you a helping hand....accompanied by a bit of pontification. Anyway there are a lot of prominent and helpful members that would and should qualify as member of the year....but there is only one that selflessly turned me into a pro....and for that I am forever grateful.

You gotta add #10: Rookie of the Year. Gotta give the new blood some props as they are the ones who continue to keep FTR going when others become so good that the posts just become repetitive.

some of those categories are kinda lame. i don't think there should be too many, increased abundance means decreased significance!!

most informative poster
favorite poster
favorite player to watch
funniest poster
best mod
best player - mtts / nl ring / limit ring

I'm not quite as far along as dav, but my feelings mirror his, for the same reasons.
