This week we have the pleasure of getting an interview of one of the best HU players online. For those who have never heard of takechip, the guy has made a shit load of money in the past few months. The interview is pretty goofy, and no real strategy insight is given, but I hope you all enjoy it.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that you do these Danny but this guy couldn't give a serious answer to one of your questions, and to me, that's a big sign of disrespect.
Maybe I'm a nit, but I found myself getting upset by his constant BS answers and the fact that he obviously wasn't taking the interview seriously.

I actually felt somewhat similar, a lot of it though was because even though he wasnt getting serious responses he kept asking serious questions. I would have switched into the "less serious" questions a lot earlier and tried to back away from poker and more to just his general lifestyle, etc.
Danny, how are these interviews setup? What do you tell them you are going to be doing?

Dude, trust me, I tried very hard to get a serious answer from him. I was very frustrated with him, but you know this guy makes so much money he wants to have fun when he does an interview. Him and his friend are very goofy.

Yeah at one point I just was like alright, i give up, im just going to ask some questions about his lifestyle. I didnt have much time though, the guy makes 1000's of dollars an hour, its not like he wants to spend his night (and it was 9 am for me but he's on a trip ofc) doing an interview. Yet, this is the only time he could really do it.

I deal with a lot of people on a daily basis who make a lot more money than me. The first thing you have to do is never be amazed or in awe by it. Act like you could give a shit that he made $700k, I wouldn't even bring it up. Second thing is you can never feed into their ego, or they own you. Act unimpressed, and they'll try to impress you. Hopefully with this guy, that would have been some poker strategy other than "4bet bluff a lot".
If someone comes in acting like a know-it-all I try to ask them I question I know they cannot possibly have an answer to, or I ask them to hit a shot they possibly could not pull off. Then I own them, and they have to listen to what I have to say and do what I want them to do.

When I was done with this interview I was really dissapointed in it. So dissapointed that I actually messaged gmml and told him I don't think I can even post it. I'm pretty sure going into the interview he just wanted to be goofy and funny, and you know thats fine, but I'd like a good mix of serious answers too. I wanted some great strategy content like we saw in the aejones interview. Unfortunately, he wasn't up for that, which I just had to go with, although i tried fucking hard to get some seriousness.
But you guys have to understand. We're not paying these people. Yes, they get some publicity, so if they want to look good then that's their choice. But if they don't give a shit than it's pretty much him doing me a favor. I find it amazing I can actually get these interviews because of these circumstances.
Just so you know I'm not a dumbass, I have your guys best interests in mind. Sometimes, it's just hard to get that out of a person!

i almost posted what spenda did verbatim after i read this, but i figured you knew it was bad and there really isnt anything you can do with it. dont be discouraged though, the interviews as a whole have been very good and i look forward to more in the future.
