We've been discussing this subject for quite a while now so I figured it's time to start a topic about it. For you whom it may concern, post your ideas here.
I was thinking sometime around spring/summer 2006. And I also think we should go to Amsterdam, hell yeah! Other suggestions are Paris and Monte Carlo.
Who's interested?

For those who have no idea what the hell I'm talking about it's basically us ftr'ers from europe meeting up getting wasted and playing poker.

You know any good cruises which would be about 3-5 days long? Organising all the travels when going on a cruise would be more difficult. Bad thing naturally is also that ships dont have casinos

Great idea and I'd love to take part but I imagine finding the funds for a trip like that could be difficult.
Unless I put my whole 'roll in a 5/10 game... hmm...

You have lots of time, so take it easy
Also goatse tshirts are mandatory of course. Late july sounds good huh? Students are on holiday and the damn slaves who have jobs can take their vacation, excellent!

arkana, that sounds really incredible! The downsize is that there will only be poker playing guys and not that many chicks But I guess that beer, poker and buds combination is just better without any women
I have tickets for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany for 25th of June and 8th of August. Now I could just go to Germany directly from the cruise. I am starting to like this cruise thing!

Card Player Cruises' passengers usually make up 25-40% of the total number of passengers on the ship, so all of the regular shipboard activities are scheduled for your pleasure.

Whoever makes the required amount of money the fastest can be team captain
Can anyone who has been on one of the cardplayer cruises give us some idea of how much spending money is needed, my guess is if the cruise is $2000 then we would probably need at least $4000.

Have you found any info about the capitals cruise 2006? I havent
If the trip cruise will cost about 1500€, we have to add like 500€ for 2 separate plane tickets, eating out two weeks, drinking, buying some shit in the cities we visit perhaps, plus if poker isnt going well we will eventually have an astronomical figure in the last row But still worth planning

It will be expensive, but we have plenty of time. Drins for 8 days will cost more than the cruise and the plane tickets though
Add some drunk tilting at the tables to that and fees and shit..like when we have to bail pingviini out for knifing someone at the table..all finns do that

This sounds like an awesome idea! I'm not sure though I have enough time to take on such a cruise. Besides such a trip is going to cost a fortune, which is also something to take into consideration. Though, if I'm going to make some serious cash on poker in the next half a year I'm in!

I can help you, here's a solution
The night before the trip you have to do this:
1) Call your boss
2) Lie

well, the ones that were interested (you, estrop, dwarfman, sandstorm) are hardly ever on irc. Tough planning something without some kind of connection.
But regardless, I don't really feel like doing it right now, maybe something small for us scandinavians at summertime.
I'm awful at planning stuff so maybe someone else should take care of it, you?

gee thanks...
here is my 2 cents:
Although the cruise would be fantastic, i just dont see it happening due to the price. How about we just rent a couple of hotel rooms close to a casino\card room for a (long) weekend and just play some cards during the day and do some drinking at night?
