Ok, let me make this clear, I will in no way organize anything involving this, however I would like to play. So wahts up, what happened the first time around? Ive started to play chess again recently and I want to test my skills against other ftr members. If no one wants to start a league, how about we just have everyone interested in doing battle with fellow ftr'ers make challenges to each other. I think that might be the best way to do it. And instead of setting up a single or double elmination style tournament we can just keep ftr chess records. If people are interested in this, we can just set up a thread where you post nothing but name and record, then people can make challenges in pm or another thread, or something.

yah Im down... Im leaning towards just letting people challenge each other and keeping track of it some how... if anyone has an idea of where we could keep stats or how we could organize this I would be greatful. Ife we try and do it all in one thread, it will be too confusing.

I think a ladder system would be the best, cuz scheduled games doesnt seem to work out well. Actually maybe its possible to set up a private ladder on yahoogames...... let me take a look.

rilla, nh

One of the reasons I do want to get a bachelor pad setup with a couple freinds is to have an on going risk game. Well have a table that is "the risk table" and its not to be fucked up. Well have some other crazy shit going on to, just to counterbalance the nerdiness of the risk table.

Risk is a great game though. As far as chess.. I used to play when I was a lot younger, I'd probably get smoked now. I'd be interested though.

regardless of whether you think its nerdy, risk is an awesome game.

as is beer poing.

chess is alright too. i mainly just like playing against people who have no idea what they're doing and doing the like 3 move checkmate and laughing at them.
i betcha that i got something you ain't got, that's called courage, it don't come from no liquor bottle, it ain't scotch

yah I say 5$ minimum is good, money transferable on stars, or whever else the players agree on. I wonder though if there is any cheapish chess software taht alows you to set up ladders, and doesnt require a subscription...

when i can fit it in... i can't just now. but the leaderboard is almost up.

make a spreadsheet of what the results would look like, and when i get a chance i'll turn it into a basic web dB.

I forgot who was going to manage the result-entry. I built you a form, whoever you are, and will tell you how to get it.
