Staking & Money
8. Offers and requests for staking and discussions of others' personal finances are forbidden. Though staking is part of poker culture, we ask that you deal with such matters in private and with people that you know and trust. In any case, none of this should be brought up in our public venues.

i beg to differ. you just have to select people very carefully. i staked a good buddy of mine who absolutely kills the games but just is strapped for cash as a college student. +EVs for both sides and is allowing him to build up a bankroll that he can use on his own without my help.

"Vast majority"
I think catdog would argue that you're situation is in the 'vast minority', and I would agree.

Yep, and there's also the fact that most people who would be good enough to make a stake +EV, already have a big enough bankroll that they don't need one.
Tourney stakes are especially dumb, the way tourneys go is that you slowly lose money until the day you get a huge score that makes up for it and then some. If you have to give up half of that score to a stake then you're not going to come out ahead.

Well if you stake a winning player in 1000 tournies it's +EV right?
