if anyone has a laptop, perhaps you could explain to me how to disable the feature where if you tap the finger pad, it is an effective click. so like if i want highlight something i can just tap the finger pad. problem is when im typing, my hand frequently taps the pad and the cursor goes to some other part of the screen and it tilts me.

if anyone has any insight into solving this problem, or needs clarifications on my problem, please tell me, because like a pirate with a steering wheel in his crotch, its drvin' me friggin nuts.

You should be able to set the sensitivity and disable it when an external mouse is present. Go into control panel and look for mouse settings. My wifes is on here taskbar and has a quick select.

I can disable mine because I have installed the drivers which can switch it off (the particular driver did not come ready installed i had to go to the dell website to install it.) Maybe there's a similar program for your touchpad.....

didnt work. i explored everything in the mouse settings, and couldnt find anything that related. the sensitivity only helps with how fast the cursor moves.
