Is anyone else psyched about this game? Apparently this pic is from the actual game engine. For those interested, Capcom has confirmed that the game's graphics will be fully 3D and the gameplay will be strictly 2D. I think this is gonna be sweet. Oh ya, try to ignore Ryu's huge boner (funky flap of his gi or something hopefully lol).

the fighter arcade scene is still really big in japan. tekken/street fighter/etc. still come out in the arcades a bit before the consoles.

I'll probably be getting one. Just some stuff to be sorted out first. I haven't had a console since the super nintendo (and even so I dominate my nearby buddies while playing tekken and soul calibur LOL)

And here's some gameplay footage of it in a really really early stage of development. It definitely looks like the gameplay will feel like SF2/SF3 which is a good thing. I'm looking forward to this!

Never understood the attraction of Tekken. Too technical! I wanna button bash when i play video games, not have to practice so much getting "L33T" or whatever the fuck

I read about SF 4 in EGM said they were only like 10 percent done with it. The writers got to sit down and play only had Ryu and Ken playable and they were working on Chun Li and Dhalsim.
Sounds pretty bad ass though. If your character gets hurt it'll show the damage supposedly like a sagging shoulder and bruises.
Thanks for the video Martin good to see it in action. Hopefully it lives up to the hype.

I was pretty balla back in school dayz at StreetFighter II. Had 2 arcades in sweet shop down road from my school. I could put 0.20p in (yes 0.20p) and kick everyones arse till end of lunch.
I've still got my SNES to play MarioCart(without doubt the best game ever made) and Streetfighter II....

no console announcements yet. arcade release will be first, as usual with fighters. most gaming sites are just listing the game under arcade, 360, and ps3 until an official announcement is made.

I've got an Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2, Game Cube, and an Atari. lol
I'd love to get a PS3 but they're so damn expensive. Plus bout the only games I want are Tekken and the new MGS. But we'll see what happens.
Any suggestions for hooking game systems to the internet, I'd like to have my computer going while still having at least one console online.

PS3 40GB is $400, which I don't think is all that expensive compared to the low level 360. The 360 20GB is only $50 cheaper. Plus you get a blu-ray player with the PS3 (which now is definitely going to defeat hd-dvd for the format of the future). Also, you can just buy whatever size 2.5 hard drive you want for the PS3 and replace it later. As for consoles going online, you should be able to use your pc like normal since the consoles just connect to your network like any other pc does nowadays. You shouldn't lose any functionality of your pc while having a console connected to the network.

So you have cable broadband? You need to get a router so that you can set up a network that shares your internet connection. Once that is done you can connect wirelessly (if your router supports wireless) or by just plugging your console up to the router through the ethernet port.

Ok well here's a vid of an interview with some capcom bigshot talking about some SF4 details. He pretty much says that the game will not be exclusive to any one console so I'm guessing it's a lock for 360 and ps3 at the least. He also confirms online gameplay, as if there were any doubt .

In other fighting game news, Soul Calibur 4 will be featuring Star Wars characters (yes, you read that right lol). So far Darth Vader and Yoda have been officially announced. Here's some awesome pics... http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3165334

Lets do it. Gotta give some time to get practice in though. I haven't had anyone to have a good round of Tekken with in a while. I know I'm rusty.

I'm already paging Eddie Gordo...
I was gonna get me a PS3 and set it up as a linux download slave, but T6 and SC4 are nice enough for me to squeeze in between...
I'll get me the 80 gigger though, the 40 gig one has no PS2 compatibility

It's on. Ya, I will have to practice up myself, as I haven't played since T5 for PS2, and I hear T6 is pretty different with the rage and bounce systems and such. I do hear that T6 is even more juggle-tastic though so that's a plus (Sorry Dean ).

By the time I get the urge to play a PS2 game again our computers will probably be powerful enough to emulate it smoothly.

And here's the 1st trailer showing Vader and Yoda in the game. Does anyone else crack up laughing when they see Vader turn on his light saber? I keep picturing the other dude he's fighting thinking "WTF I'm gonna die!!!"

Update: Vader will be in the PS3 version, and Yoda will be in the 360 version cuz PS3 is black and 360 is green.
