Does anyone know this guy? How famous is he in Finland? Could you compare him to an American actor in terms of popularity?
I met him a couple weeks ago at a pool. One of my friends I was with hung out with this Jasper guy and Ziigmund the night before and apparently Ziigmund made jokes about how he was as rich as this guy. I completely forgot about this until now so I can't really think of anymore details.

Never heard of him, but he's apparently played the legendary ski jumper Matti Nykänen so he's cool in my book.

they make movies over there? I thought they just subtitled our awesomeness, thereby making it less awesome, yet still far more awesome than the low production quality crap their small domestic market would be able to support.

I've seen about a dozen Swedish movies and they've all been amazing. Wild Strawberries is easily in my top 10. Haven't seen any Finnish movies but I imagine they're about as good since both the Swedes and the Finns eat reindeer.

I love to watch foreign films but I've only seen 2 Danish ones, Pelle the Conqueror (very very good) and After the Wedding (very very bad). Any others you'd recommend?

The Celebration is one of my favorites of all time. You gotta be a movie aficionado to like it though since It's very un-Hollywood. For example, the entire film is done with hand held cameras and no props. It fits perfectly for the story though.
The first half is also kinda boring, but that's because it's setting the stage for the real point of the movie which kicks off about midway. I really love this movie though, couldn't be any better IMO
Brothers and Open Hearts are other good Danish films.
I haven't seen Pelle or After the Wedding, but I bet I would like them. I really like Danish direction and several of their actors.
If you don't like The Celebration, don't bother with the others IMO. But you should like it. It's truly fantastic, but like I said, it's really different than what you get from most other movies, and if you haven't seen a Dogme film (hand held cameras, no props) it'll be very different for you at first.
The Celebration http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0154420/
Brothers http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0386342/
Open Hearts http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0315543/
Speaking of foreign films in general, the first two are MUST watch, I wouldn't say the third is must watch, but I would say it is very awesome.
Seppuku http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056058/
Evil http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338309/
Distrct B-13 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0414852/
Seppuku is pretty much the best story ever, and it's samurai and has one of Japan's best, Tatsuya Nakadai
Completely disregard the title 'Evil', the translation or something is way off. It has nothing to do with the movie. This is one of my favs too, and a rather enjoyable film since it's about a badass who kicks peoples asses but also has a soft and sophisticated side
I like 'cool' movies a lot, and District B-13 is pretty much just that. Combine martial arts and parkour into a buddy action film about bringing down a powerful gang and saving the girl, and you got yourself a pretty good time. Also, if you rent the DVD of District B-13, you have to manually shut off dub. Dub is retarded, subs only way to go
And obv there's City of God, but you've probably seen that since it's like the most popular foreign film of the last decade

Banlieu B-13 (District B-13) is awesome. If you like that, you'll also probably like Yamakasi:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0267129/
It's about a group of guys who live in a poor area of France and climb buildings as a hobby. They're local heroes, but when a young boy with heart conditions tries to be like them and injures himself they feel responsible. When he needs a new heart because of the accident and doesnt get it, the guys decide to break into the houses of the people who are on the board that decided to not give the boy a new heart.
It's not really martial arts as in B-13 as there is no fighting involved, but more like urban freestyle running/climbing. Anyway, lots of stunts and a high energy kind of movie.

He is mostly known for his part in a daily soap opera even though he's had multiple roles in domestic films as well. I doubt that he is very rich although I'm sure he does well for himself.
