theres a new circle of hell for short stackers. although at least you are a half stack, which is respectable. i fucking hate 20bb stacks. especially since they have been increasing since its the new "trend". its hard to find a table without at least 1 of these assholes.

FGators obv isn't the greatest player ever, but he's still better at poker than most of the people who make fun of him all the time (who wouldn't be long-term winners at 2-4 NL either).

Also, maybe (probably) it's different at 5-10 but at small stakes every single one of the 20 BB regs is TERRIBLE. It's really easy for me to beat them at their own game with my tourney donk short stack skills. The rake kinda sucks though so you don't want to sit at the same table as more than one or two of them.

I spent a long time doing 20bb and just couldnt do better than breakeven. Added a few more BBs and the money started pouring in.

I'll try and summarize after wasting a good portion of my morning reading about this

Cliff Notes: Fgators is God's gift to Poker (he thinks) but is a below breakeven player overall after about 1.5 million hands over the last 2 years or so...

Fgators is a 22 y/o who started with $20, and ignored bankroll guidelines and quickly had a 10K bankroll. Thinking he was god, he joined 2P2 and began spouting his greatness, not listening to any of the advice given by the regulars there (including our very on Fnord). He continued on and had a 77! buy-in down swing, that obviously (to him) was just a run of bad luck. Eventually he got poker tracker and amassed a massive 1.5M+ database of hands. He sold this database to a few users on 2P2 who dutifully posted the lifetime graph of this which showed that he was down about $20K in Cash games ranging from .01-.02NL to 5-10NL. The majority of his hands (1.3Million) were at 200NL where he was a slight winner of about 2K. However he is a HUGE loser at 400NL and above where he lost about $20K in about 50K hands! They also imported the massive DB into PokerEV and plotted his luck graph that showed he was running quite normally for Pots that he Showed down in, but obviously an enormous loser in pots that were not shown down. He still thinks it's bad luck, and basically selectively ignored any questions and comments that he didn't feel like responding to. He pissed off enough people there and got himself banned. Obviously he is still playing, just don't expect anything fancy from him!

Edit: Also, he thinks that PokerStars is rigged, and Lee Jones has for no reason singled him out and flipped his doom switch. He has a Word document full of Bad beats as proof...really.
Hey knucklehead! Bonk!

Great cliff notes, I appreciated them.

So I just skimmed the 2+2 regs thread and his name came up i guess I just assumed he was good.

Boost,

If you want to say that a winning player at $5 SnG's is better at poker than a losing player at 25-50 NL then I guess there's some merit to that, because game selection is part of being a good player and FGators obviously sucks really really bad at it.

But the thing is most of the people in BBV who make fun of him all play like 25NL and FGators can beat way bigger games than they can, but he just can't admit that he's not good enough to beat 2-4. If you count donkaments and rakeback I'm sure he's still made a decent amount of money through poker.

Yeah, i think about 80% of the people (at least) who diss out Fgators probably aren't as good as him. Still his attitude is hilarious and he's just asking for it.
