Farley was cool, and that skit was hilarious.

Definitely a step up from Moneymaker, btw.

But, has anyone else noticed the efforts to posthumously crown Farley a comic genius, the 2nd Belushi and all that?
Like in the Top 101 SNL moments, there was just way too much Farley love.
Sure, some of it might be sincere, but my cynical take is that they're trying to sell DVD's.

metaxy, it always happens when people die. Look back in history, most famous painters where thought to be trash during thier lifetimes, once they die, everything they did is a masterpiece, heh. Or look at biggy and tupac, they where alright, but now they are the undisputed best rappers of all time, no holds barred. Jay-Z wasnt saying that when they wehre alive....

No doubt.

It still doesn't mean that:
a.) people have to believe the hype /buy the goods.
b.) there aren't definite material interests that propegate it.
