Hey Guys,
Not sure if most of you know about this game, havent heard anyone in the community speak about it so i thought id share it with you.
Basically you start with $16k fantasy dollars, and pick 4 real life poker players, (Ivey, Hellmuth, Moneymaker etc..) and you get points if they finish in the money at selected events. Mainly WPT events ive noticed...
Prizes for the top 20 point getters for each tourney. Prizes are sensational and have included a $3k poker table, $1k pokerstars accounts, chip sets, dvd's etc...
Its run by bluff magazine and can be found at **link edited
Heres a copy of how it works:
Quote:
1) Sign-up for an account with Fantasy Poker Challenge
2) Under "Select Players", fill your personal queue with your favorite players. Your personal queue alterations will remain active for all tournaments. Use your allotted Fantasy Dollars to purchase players for your fantasy team by selecting them from the queue. Each team must consist of 4 players. Make changes to your fantasy team until the cut-off time (1 hour before the start of the designated tournament).
3) After Day 1 tournament play is complete, you will be able to modify your team again. New player values will be assigned based on chip count. You will have the option to Cash-in players and purchase new players based on the new values. Your original players may have more or less value after Day 1 play based on their respective chip counts. If a purchased player did not participate in the tournament, then the player value will remain unchanged; this means that you can purchase a player at the end of day one, with his newly assigned value. Make changes to your fantasy team until the Day 2 cut-off time (1 hour before the start of Day 2 play). Note: Players that were knocked out on day 1 will not be available as a selection at the end of day 1.
Sample Scenario 1: You purchase Phil Ivey for 7,000 fantasy dollars. After the first day of the tournament, Phil is on fire. His adjusted value is now 14,000 fantasy dollars. You now have the option of cashing-in Phil and using the fantasy dollars to purchase new players, or holding on to him.
Sample Scenario 2: You purchase Phil Ivey for 7,000 fantasy dollars. Phil is the victim of a bad beat, and is knocked out before the end of the first day. Phil is now a locked player selection for you. You will receive the respective finishing points.
Sample Scenario 3: You purchase Phil Ivey for 7,000 fantasy dollars. Phil decides to pass on the tournament and does not play. After the first day of the tournament, you can cash Phil in for the original purchase price of 7,000 fantasy dollars, and purchase a new player.
4) Points are awarded based on finishing position. Players only earn points if they finish in the money. The formula for calculating points is as follows:
100 x ((TOTAL MONEY PLACES + 1) - FINISHING POSITION) / TOTAL MONEY POSITIONS
For example, if the top 10 places are in the money, and a player finishes 2nd, then points earned would be: 100 x ((10 + 1) - 2) / 10 = 90 points.
5) The Fantasy Team with the most points will be the Grand Prize Winner. In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by the highest placed finisher on their team. If both teams have the same highest finisher, they move to the next highest finisher; this continues until a winner is decided. If a tie consists of two fantasy teams with the exact same players, the winner will be the first person to have submitted the winning entry.
6) Poker Stars Bonus
Fantasy Poker Challenge is excited to welcome Poker Stars as the official sponsor of Bluff's Fantasy Poker Challenge. Beginning with Fantasy Poker Challenge Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure, anyone with a real money Poker Stars account will receive a 10% bonus on their Fantasy Poker Challenge score. Just enter your Poker Stars Username under My Account and start receiving your 10% bonus points in each Fantasy Poker Challenge tournament through the WPT Championship.
If you already have a Poker Stars account, simply enter your Poker Stars username under My Account.
If you do not already have a Poker Stars account, simply open a new account by clicking on any of the Poker Stars banner ads or links found on the Fantasy Poker Challenge web site. Please note that failure to utilize these designated links may cause you not to receive your bonus points.
To qualify for bonus points, you must have earned a minimum of 200 Frequent Player Points over the life of your Poker Stars account. For example, if you already have a Poker Stars account and have earned over 200 Frequent Player Points in the past, then you are already qualified. If you open a new account, once you earn over 200 Frequent Player Points you are qualified for the duration of the promotion.

I checked out the link, it does not appear that this newcomer is affiliated with that website, and it may be of some interest to visitors...
Yo, bucko, if you've been lurking these forums since December, you should already be aware of our very stiff policy on spam and questionable outbound linking.
But, we will side with you on introducing some interesting opportunities to our visitors.
Hey, I'm sure you have more to contribute, don't you?

Yeah we can get a little uppity when someone with such a small post count promotes another link. We try to keep things from getting out of hand.

Now if FyrFytr were a super moderator, bucko_666 would have been banned and this thread deleted. Making it all a non-issue.
Do you see the hassle we endure by not beind super mods?!

No way! Rilla' would have autodetected the thread and acted even before bucko_666 hit submit.

If anal is making sure our forum doesn't degenerate into a cess pool of spam. Then yes. We are. And with the recent snit we had with some "other" forum. We are especially itchy with the trigger finger to suspect posts from brand new or very low post count members. :P
And watch saying anal around Rilla'. He goes that way.
