never played mass effect but did play oblivion and morrowind. they were decent. im hardcore fps so i hate most fps since gameplay sucks on most. looks like its oblivion during a different era, and that leaves the fps to be desired.

Mass Effect is a lot more geared towards FPS with some RPG. I've played Morrowwind and Oblivion. I liked them but this is different.
I'd say it's in between a half life and an oblivion

when it comes to fps, one of the bungie programmers said on halo2 extras disk, that what you gotta do is make 30 seconds of awesome fighting gameplay then repeat that over and over until the game is finished.
i think this is an excellent portrayal of why most fighting games fail at fighting. they dont get down the short spurt of awesome combat. oblivion failed there, and i never got mass effect cause reviews said that failed too.

the PC RPGs were amazing back in the day, but the console action RPG they put out a year ago or whenever got bad reviews so I'm not getting excited until it comes out. If it's just Mass Effect 1.5 with a new story that will be just fine.
