Don't know where to post this so it's going here. 'Rilla feel free to move it if you think it belongs in Tools or Poker Etc or Games & Gear or Feedback one of the other weird forums...
ANYWAY! FTR is FAMOUS!
I just bought issue 2 of "WPT Poker" magazime which has recently launched in the UK. Imagine my surprise when turning the page to find a series of chip trick lessons, demostrated by a guy called Eric, using some rather cool FlopTurnRiver.com chips.
Nice!
Anyone else seen it? I was pretty surprised seeing as WPT are the masters of branding everything that doesn't move and some things that do... to use those pics in their magazine is pretty odd.

Yeah it does link to his site in the magazine as well... it was just the massive FLOPTURNRIVER in the middle of the page that made me sit up

WPT Poker is actually pretty good. They have a lot of your standard interviews and results-based news (albeit with a WPT focus) but there are also some fairly insightful articles from Lou Krieger and people like that.
I like the bit where they pick a hand a month (last month AK, this month JJ) and discuss its strengths, weaknesses and so on... show how vulnerable it is to multiple callers, overcards etc.
Also, issue 1 came with 4 official WPT chips, which are pretty nice, and issue 2 comes with a bound copy of Bob Ciaffone's Rules of Poker
It's better than Poker Player magazine, which was like a comic... and it's better than CardPlayer Europe, which is 50% adverts, 40% somewhat dull industry news ("Dutch Poker News" isn't exactly an exciting page title) and 10% syndicated articles like Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth's meanderings.

This weird little shop called W H Smith's. Don't know if you've heard of it. I don't think mister smith was there when I visited.
I bought issue 1 in an Asda.
In altrincham smiths it was between two chodding great yellow bits of card which said "NEW!"
Dropping the sarcastic tone, i think you would have spotted it if it was in the shop. It's also ina big placcy bag with WPT logos all over it. Hard to miss.

It was a lot of fun doing the photos for the WPT Magazine, hopefully more things like this will come up in the future. :)
I have a bunch of shirts with the FTR logo, I chose the one with the big version so it would stand out in the magazine.

My copies haven't arrived yet. WPT is sending me a complimentary issue and I ordered some extras from ebay for friends and relatives.

LOL - those are fantastic! I love how you have close-up shots of the poker chips that clearly advertise FlopTurnRiver - haha, awesome.
