I am considering going on the bonus whoring trail. (starluck, etc.) Is anyone willing to admit that they went busted prior to making the bonus? I hear that alot of people are successful but I was wondering how many are unsuccessful. I am not talking about someone that didn't follow the standard BJ rules, I'm talking about those that did everything right and still didn't make money?
I'm just wondering if we are only hearing of the success stories and not hearing of the failures. Now I know that no solid FTR'er would ever go busted but I'm sure somebody has a "friend" that did...

I'm not sure how it works now, but when I did Starluck they give you the bonus up front. You then have to play through all the wagering requirements. On Planet I made $178 profit, but I believe on Starluck I ate into $13 of my own money at completion.
It is possible to lose at these, but you'll win more then you lose.

I've done like 8 casinos.. only ate into $10 of my money in total, at one casino, although I came VERY close to busting, playing pontoon, the lowest HA (house advantage) game in the whole thing.
Smaller bet = Best.
It lowers variance, so if you have lots of time and don't mind making small bets, use the minimum to reduce variance.
Goodluck, do these bonuses, they are BIGTIME +EV. I made $450 at one casino ALONE!

Big bets are more EV and more variance. Small bets are slightly less EV much less variance. $/hr when making big bets is of course waaaaaaaaay higher.
If you're on a small bankroll by all means grind your first casinos out with small bets. Once your roll is able to withstand busting a number of casinos in a row, go for bigger bets.

At first I only bet $1 per hand and back then I never busted a casino. Now I usually bet $5 a hand and I bust pretty frequently, but I also win bigger when things are going my way.
