Ditto. Nothing more you can say. I hope you guys didn't know anyone injured or killed in the attacks.

Thanks guys, fucking terrorists piss me off. Its the cowardice of the whole thing that really gets me. So far, given the number of devices the death toll seems fortunately low, i don't know if it'll keep rising as more info gets out, i hope not.

Thankyou guys.

My brother works up in London, thankfully he was nowhere near the attacks, and although being rather disrupted when trying to travel home, all is fine.

The speech Blair just gave in Downing Street was awesome.

I agree wholeheartedly. I wish we would call them on it more often. Like a whole one hour speech where the president derides terrorists as cowards. I'd like to hear the phrase "chicken-sh!ts" used.

I feel for you all too, I hope everybody is OK.

I hate terrorists, and we need to quit playing nice with them and those groups/countries who support them. It really pisses me off to see an attack against our friends across the pond.

Toasty, don't think itt is 50...yet. Alistair Darling just said it's still 37 on the radio but will probably rise. It's been a weird few days. I stay 3 miles from where the G8 summit is...and it was chaos here on Wed...then this in London yesterday. Anyway, cheers for the sentiment guys.

Thank you everyone.

All my wife's family live in London - her Grandparents live just around the corner from the Bus blast and her Mum and sister are near Kings Cross. Thankfully they are all OK.

It was a cowardly act and my thoughts are with all those who have been affected by the atrocity.

My Dad was in London yesterday having been up the day before to see an
exhibition about WWII and then got caught up in the olympic
celebrations. He had too many sherberts so decided to get a room and
fortunatley was not travelling when it all went off.

I can't explain how bad it was having checked in with my borther and
sister who both work in London to to know that my Dad was there and none
of us knew how he was. I't wasn't till around 15:00 that he managed to
get a message to one of us.

It is so weird to feel so relieved and at the same time feel quite
guilty about those that are not so lucky.

My gfs friend was in london when it happened. She was running late and missed the first bombing. If she was on time, she woudlve been right there when it happened. Its scary how something so far away could make a difference so close to home.

I don't know what to say besides that I will never understand what drives terrorists to think that harming hundreds or thousands of innocent people will accomplish anything but them getting hunted down and killed. In the back of my mind I am worried that they were not all suicide bombers...

I worked in Central London until a week ago. My gf worked there until the day before.

The death toll is sure to rise. Once they get an exact number off the bus bombing, it's sure to climb

I think that the bus bomb was a complete fuck up on the terrorists' part.

If you think about it, the prime suspects are Al Qaeda here, and they are very very good at planning their terrorist attacks, and it clearly looks like it was an attack on the (very vulnerable) London Underground system.

After the first 3 bombs, the London Underground was closed off completely, which leads me to think the 4th bomber (assuming they were suicide bombers) couldn't get to the place on the underground that he was supposed to be at, so he was stuck on a bus.

From eyewitness accounts, someone who was on the bus said that there was a man with a bag at the back of the bus on the top deck looking very agitated and fiddling with his bag, as if he was trying to diffuse the bomb.

Also, surely if the terrorists wanted to cause maximum damage on a bus, they would've put the bomb(er) at the bottom of the bus, as this would've sent it flying.

That leads me to believe that these attacks were from suicide bombers.

Just a theory. I find it pathetic that people have the mindset that they want to kill as many innocent people as they want, it is quite frankly disgusting.

We will not let terrorists prevent us from doing the things we want to do, we will stand up to them.

I completely support hunting them down... but worry that the loss of rights and changes made to our society to ensure safety is what the terrorists want. They cannot seriously think that any sort of terrorist activity is going to change the international policies of a country. By forcing us to change our daily activities they may believe that they are winning. I worry that the means to the end of terrorism, while possibly justified, is simply not worth it and may be playing into their plans. I just don't see the war against terror ever ending.

Good point, Dman. However, I think that Al Qaeda must be slipping since their training camps have been found and destroyed, letting in less than perfect pupils. Ones who skip class and miss the lesson on how to syncronize your watch with the other terrorist...

Hey guys only just realised what this thread was about. I dont know about you guys across the pond (im a politics student by the way and terrorism is a subject i do) but im just about fed up to the max of all these terrorists who have a problem with our way of life.

One of my uni buddies was actually in London at the time. He said that the areas nearby were really shaken by the blasts although he wudnt really go into it as he was quite shaken too.

Im afraid i dont know u guys well enough yet or know whos from London but all the best from a Yorkshireman

p.s its nice too see so many people care about the problems at the moment in relation to the terrorist issues. If i could say one think to you all it is to bear in mind that the people who commit such atrocities are trying to destroy the fundamental way we live our lives and the values we hold most precious. If we try to hold onto these and show the solidaritry (cant spell) that is obvious here then the war on terror will end because our values will not die despite some peoples efforts to destroy all of us who believe in these things.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I feel a tinge of sympathy for a lot of terrorists though...Many of them have had everything plundered from their land by USA, Russia/USSR, or China. They know nothing but poverty, empy bellies, and the lies and hate of their wicked Madrassas. (Taught my older fundamentalists who have also suffered the same thing...In their case, the main perpertrators were France, the Ottoman Empire, and the U.K.)

The fact that Osama -- once a CIA employee who led the charge to crack Brezhnev's puppet regime in Afghanistan -- is willing and able to exploit these people (in spite of making his billions with a lot of help from American and Saudi governments) makes him the ultimate hypocrite and makes him all the more evil.

If there were more John Lilburnes (Freeborn John is the father of libertarian socialism), more John Lockes, more Jon Stuart Mills, more Mikhail Bakunins, more Aleksandr Dubceks, more Dr. Mohammed Mossadeghs, more Dr. Martin Luther King Jrs, and more Leung Kwok-hungs in our race's pathetic history, none of this shit would happen because authoritarianism, theocracy, aristocracy, and imperialism would have been relegated to the dustbins of history.
