Hi

I am moving to San Francisco in a week and I will be looking for a job once I arrive. Is it likely that I will be drug tested when applying for jobs? If so, in which industries is it most common?

Sam

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

there are not that many places that drug test. it is also largely dependent on what type of job you are looking for

I've worked in a number of service industries, a few desk jobs, computer programming, wed design, and graphic design jobs and drug testing never even came up as a possiblity.

I have friends that work in film production, video production, accounting, publishing, retail, and customer support, and none of them have to do drug testing either.

In fact, the only person I know who has a job that requires regular drug testing works for the government.

So saying "all of them" is certainly the wrong answer.

In America we don't do drugs. We become alcoholics instead.

stay away from the Pot because that stays in your system for like a month - Cocaine and meth and all that stuff is out in like 2 days though...So if you stay to the harder stuff, just wait a few days before the test....

stay away from Grocery stores if drug testing is a problem, and car dealerships - Pizza joints don't do any testing at all...In fact, i thnk they promote it - And its easy for foreigners to get hired (i don't know what skills you have or green card, etc - but if you just need a job, go get a cheap car and deliver pizza)

I haven't been tested in any of my 4 office jobs, which i find kinda funny - I got tested when i worked at safeway, but not for a real job making good money

In film production you'll get the job when you show excellent sourcing and dealing skills.

Come on now, you must know about the logically robust proof-by one-and-a-half-examples method.
