Where is your dog going on a daily basis to pick up fleas? Does your dog live outside or inside because it sounds like there is some source of fleas that they are getting into after the medicine is working.

If your dog is an inside dog you may need to bomb the house really while you take them to a groomer to get a flea bath.

Also consider getting the outside of your house and lawn sprayed if your dog is getting them from being in the back yard. Also old blankets in a dog house are a bad idea.

frontline, haven't seen a flea in 10 years over 4 dogs. You're using the stuff you put on once per month?

I live where the climate is too hot for fleas to live in at all so it's not a problem. That is not meant to help, that is to brag.

When I did live in a place where fleas lived I bought these drops you put on the back of their neck and it worked awesome. There's one kind you can buy from the stores in the pet food aisles bit the vets carry the really good stuff.

i think my yard has them or something, possibly the neighborhood. my neighbor has an indoor dog that only goes out to piss/crap that is also having a flea problem. i have been irregularly using frontline. i guess i should give her a bath with flea shampoo, bomb the house then start using frontline more regularly?

Fleas are not easy to get rid of, you need a plan and some aggression or you will be fighting this for months

yea i tried this, it does not work, just a wives tale....

also advantage didnt work for me either so i use comfortis and you just have to give ur dog a pill 1-2 times a month....

also if your using advantage make sure you dont bath him right after/before, and make sure it doesnt get wet for like a day or 2

just don't overdo it...it can reportedly cause anemia in dogs if they get too much of it.

The fleas lay eggs which fall off the dog so just killing the fleas on the dog won't solve the problem.

What I did was tried to groom all the fleas off my dog once a day (or took him for a long swim) which at least made him more comfortable. Vacuumed the carpet and washed his bedding.

Finally, I put some liquid stuff on him that disrupts the life cycle so the eggs won't develop (can't remember what is was called, but I'm sure you can find out). It took a couple of weeks but they were finally gone.

p.s. don't feed your dog garlic or onions, they break down his red blood cells.

I have 8 dogs. First step was ripping up the carpet and putting hardwood floors throughout. That's pretty drastic and expensive, so go get yourself some of that flea shit that kills them on carpets, dog beds, the couch, etc. The collars are pretty much a waste of money if the dog already has fleas. What I've done in the past if I find fleas on any of my dogs is scrub them down with flea shampoo until all I find is dead fleas floating down the tub. Then get yourself some flea medication and all should work out fine. I've used Frontline and had success with it. I don't know why you're not so you're probably doing something wrong.
