I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't see anything surprising about someone hating the current state of the FTR IRC channel.

I don't understand it. Why can't we just have a laugh in there, that is what it really should be for. I don't care who is in there and if they're a idiot or not, I laugh when I'm there and convincing rippy that I'm 65 just makes my day..

Originally, IRC was actually a cool place that made the whole "FTR Experience" that much greater. It was a place you could go to hang out and learn about the game, while getting to know some of the other posters on here. It was a valuable asset for FTR.
Now, though? I actually think FTR should step away from it's official affilitation with IRC. It has become a joke. It no longer is a valuable asset, a place that helps make FTR as great as it is. I believe it actually hurts FTR's image. If I discovered FTR today and went to that place, would I think FTR was cool or a joke?
Personally, I don't care one way or the other because I haven't stepped inside that place since early-July, and I already know how cool this place is and can be...But for the sake of others, especially future FTR-noobs, I don't think distancing ourselves from IRC is such a bad thing.

Actually, I was trying to apologize for the incident but Miffed was relentless with his complaints. So I quit IRC forever.
Here's what happened:
He spoke in all caps complaing about something. I wanted to cut down on people bitching about bad beats in 4 lines of all caps. So I did the +b thing. I thought it didnt do anything til he was kicked. Apparently it keeps them from talking, something I didn't know. Miffed gets miffed while I forget that the +b thing is on.
I apologize for what I did, I didn't understand what doing +b did and it was a punishment to harsh for the crime. But if that's how you're going to react to it, I don't even want to deal with you. (And IRC)

If anyone has issues with anyone in IRC, keep it in IRC. If you must discuss it via our forums, use the PM!!!
