I was thinking on my way home tonight that riding someone's ass while driving is sorta like being pot committed.

Even if they stop, it's too late to slam on your brakes (fold) - you're already too close, you have to hit them now (call).

I only ride peoples' asses when they are driving erratically and make sudden, unexplainable stops - especially if their brakelights are out. Or if they have lights on the roof of their car.

I only do it when someone's going slow in my way when they could move over/get up to the speed limit.

In all other circumstances, I try not to. I react very strongly to people tailgating me. I usually flick my brake lights, then slow down and/or pace the car next to me if I feel somene is tailgating me inappropriately.

when someone rides my ass and Im in a confrontational mood (always), I pull a manuever I like to call "Break Check". This involves me quickly tapping my breaks hard then quickly returning the gas. This has particularly good results on the highway. The great thing is that sure you might get in an accident, but its not your fault, and most of the time it just freaks the jerk out and they back the fuck up.

Nope never had never will, my sisters brakes went out my freshmen year of highschool(she was a senior) on our way to school and we rear ended a school bus that freaked me out enough to never do it

Do it to slow people... usually only if they're in the FAST lane of the highway and need to move over.

One thing that helps me get rid of tailgaters is the windshield wipers.

My brother has reversed the windshield cleaning fluid sprayer so that instead of spraying the window, it fires forwards.

So if someone is pissing him off he gets up their backside and FIRE.

Yes. I've known many rednecks that do this.

Of course, if you do that on the Los Angeles highways, you risk getting shot. You probably don't have that risk in Britainland.

I wasn't serious about my question.

This was a poker analogy that was supposed to get laughs, not serious replies.

Bad read. All of you.

you're right, controling your emotions and not being stupid just because things don't go your way has NOTHING to do with poker.

My windshield fluid used to squirt off to one side and I would hit mail boxes and cars and try to get my friends

My wife tried that once... The dipshit went beserk on her and tried to push her off the road. Then went flooring by her with his 6-7 year old son flipping her off from the back window. Just a word of warning. Needless to say, she doesn't do that any longer...

Having a car that's going 10 under in the right lane can be a blessing in disguise..

i only tailgate people going slow in the the fast lanes on the freeway. It usually gets them to move the fu*k out of the way. And i have really good brembo breaks so i can break faster then them if they try to use the "break check"

Let's define "slow" in the fast lane. Is it less than 10 over the speed limit? What about 7? I have found myself in the fast lane, slightly speeding yet some "brilliant" people decide to tailgate.

What will you accomplish? Naturally, I'm not pleased with your actions, so what incentive is there to move? I know I'm pissing you off, so in fact, you have GIVEN me incentive to continue my current actions.

I think people would find driving much less stressful if they got rid of the notion of a "fast lane" and look at all lanes as potentially the fastest. Find the path of least resistance...typically switching lanes.
