So I had the most disgusting experience ever. I went to use my small sauce pan or pot or whatever to heat some milk and I was shocked to discover something in it when I lifted the lid. I realized that it was some creamy tomato soup I had heated like 3 weeks ago and accidentally left to sit there for ... well, weeks. It was so nasty. I use milk in my tomato soup instead of water, which made it a million times worse. There was this grey layer on top of the soup that had actually formed an interesting pattern of curdle or whatever over the days it got to sit there. It smelled SO bad. Amazingly bad. I pretty much grabbed the pot and ran outside so that I wouldn't have to smell it inside my kitchen. Then I dumped the shit into a plastic bag, threw the bag away, ran back into my house, and now it's sitting in my sink with water running into it because I really don't wanna clean it right now. I almost threw the entire pot in the garbage because I didn't wanna deal it

What's the most disgusting rotting food you've ever found in your kitchen/house?

Another time a year or so ago, I left a potato in one of my cupboards for months. Finally one day I needed something in that cupboard and was digusted to see it there. It was moldy as hell and its rotting juices were running all over the shelves. It smelled so nasty. One thing about me is that I'm actually afraid of mold, isn't that stupid? I'm not afraid of spiders, I'm not afraid of bugs, but I'm soooo freaked out by mold. It took about 30 min of psyching myself up before I could bring myself to get the potato out of the cupboard, and I didn't do that until I had plastic bags over my hands. I think it took two attempts actually, the first time I dropped it and screamed. lol ... after I finally got it out, I sprayed that cupboard with so much Lysol. I couldn't eat potatoes for a long time and now I despise the smell of the particular Lysol I used.

I've got this fucked up fear of rotting food. I'm so weird.

my brother made fajitas a couple weeks ago. His girlfreind mad some mexican rice from a box. The pot is sitting next to the sink with rice still in it molding. The lid is on it. Im guessing that they just havent noticed. I dont really feel like telling them because I dont wanna be "that guy." But theres no way Im gonna clean it.

I guess Ill just let it go for a few more days or something, then say something if its not taken care of.

My fridge absolutlely fucking stank the other day and I couldn't work out why - I chucked out everything even remotely past it's sell by date and it still reeked.

A tip for everyone who's fridge smells: Put some bicarbonate of soda in there and it neutralizes the smell. Took a couple of days with my rancid fridge though.

lol what a compliment

Thinking about it, I really don't get how it sat there for so long without my noticing. I usually clean my pots and just put them on my stove top when I'm not using them, so that part makes sense. I just haven't needed that particular sauce pan ever since I made the soup. I've been using the stove and cooking (I use that term loosely) on a regular basis, and I guess the lid just did a really good job of blocking the smell. Hahaha ...

I actually think it was there even longer than 3 weeks because I think I last had soup before I left for my trip to PA and my trip was a month ago.

when I was around 12 (long time ago!!) my friend and I were having a potato fight,(whole ones thrown at each other from across the yard) well I found a nice rotten one at the bottom of my bag and threw it at my buddy and hit him right in the neck.(LOL!!) I thought this was great untill we went over to the hose right after to wash the most nastiest smelling potato goo off his neck, when he vommited all over my back, we still talk about this every once in a while when we see each other.
3 3 3 I'm only half evil.
