Sonic 2 > sonic 1 > sonic 3
Sonic 1 > 2 > 3 for difficulty though
That crazy boss in sonic 1 where all you have to do is climb to the top of the level without drowning is haaaaard!

Im in the middle of HL2 right now (just got my new computer and can actually run the game now). The graphics are pretty sweet, but I don't think either HL1 or 2 is the "sickest game by far ever made."
Maybe you can explain to me why this game is so sick? They dont explain the story very well at all. Currently, I am driving down some abandoned road, and I have no idea why or where I am going.
Dont get me wrong, I do love the game...but I am just lost on the storyline.

well, if you get lost in the story line. There's nothing we can do to help. I thought the stories were very awesome, exciting and emmersive. But the reason HL2 was so freaking amazing is becuase they came out with so many weapons never done before. The grav gun is the greatest video game weapon of all time.

Nobody's mentioned the greatest football game of all-time. Not just then, but even NOW. I would still rather play this game right *NOW* than any other football game ever created (NCAA 2004 is a solid second place, though).

To me, it's the greatest *game* ever created. My friends and I played this religiously even in *college*, which is saying something because we all owned PS1's and PS2's already, yet we still were going back to our 8-bit NES for some fun.

Was Baseball Stars the old Nintendo game where you won money and then could buy players and build them up? You could also name them whatever you wanted. And there were female players?
Fuck I loved that game. Spent hours and hours on it.
The old mortal combats were the shit as well. My buddy and I would snowboard for hours, then come in to warm up and play MK for more hours.

American Dreams FTW!

I loved this game even more than Baseball Stars. RBI Baseball was AWESOME.

This game was cool, too, but the games were a little too long and I never actually finished a season with this game.

I spent many hours playing this game, too.

Those super old NES boxes are just awesome. Brings back the memories of standing there in the store when I'd stop by every day I could while saving up until I could buy the game. Good stuff.

hl1 and hl2 are quite possibly the greatest fps' ever made. HL1 was so innovative in the simple way that it didtn have traditional cutscenes, but told a cohesive story. Hl2 just continued with that and improved on it. Also if we include counterstrike as part of the game, well that revolutionized multiplayer fps'.
oh btw, this was the best basketball game evar.

Baseball Stars was sick, definitely one of the all time classics.
Once I had played for a while and smartened up, I would make a $$$ team where I'd fire every player and have them win a few games against the lovely ladies (2 players, strike the lovely ladies out 3x, have LL hit 13 straight batters, GG), then I'd jack everyone's prestige up to 15 and give a few pitchers certain stats so it was very easy to hit batters.
then I'd take my real team and do the same thing only having them win against the $$$ team. Fire people and buy cheap 84max rookies and jack them up.

I think it's 100% possible that the number of people who have beaten this game (without using the warp to the last level at the end of the second level) can be counted on one hand.

Speaking of tough games to beat, did anyone beat Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1 on the NES? I only beat it once and I played it a shitload. That game was fucking tough!

I might have beat it. I actually watched a playthrough on youtube (lol get a life!) the other day, and the ending looked familiar. Not 100% though.
Now I'm trying to remember if I ever beat Rygar. Awesome game.

Damn. I was gonna go to bed but have instead been on a nostalgia-trip on the internet.
Contra for the NES was such an awesome game. Here in Europe it was named Probotector and starred robots instead of humans. Super Probotector (Contra 3) is one of the best games on the SNES, along with Zelda 3 and Super Mario World. I gotta get my consoles working again!

was it in the NES or SNES Tecmo Bowl where if you played a couple teams (I think the Giants were one) you could block every extra point/field goal?
I read a snippet in the paper the other day that the Indians clubhouse plays RBI baseball all the time.

The Power Glove. What the fuck was Nintendo thinking there. That was the buggiest piece of shat they ever sold.
NBA Jam for Genesis was a fun multi-player game.

Nintendo was a behemouth back then. They had some crazy ass extras that were awful ideas but people would still buy them up. I thought the Powerglove was fucking awesome when I saw it in that Wizard movie (you guys have to remember that!) Of course I bought it and only ever used the controller part of it, but it did give you access to a unique punch in Mike Tyson's Punchout.

god... red alert brings back memories. All thoes games do...
There was a place called "lan arena" where I grew up. It was what the name described, and there was a cool group of kids that I got to know, and still am freinds with the mto this day, havent been in touch with them recently though. Anyways, we mostly had very slow or no internet so our multiplayer expiernces were limited to this place for a long while. There would be tournaments and overnights, it was great.
I remember the first overnight I went to, there was seemingly endless pizza, donuts, jolt cola, and of course video games. I thought I was in heaven.
oooh heres a classic...
