Why is spielberg ripping off half life 2? Seriously.. the aliens look like the bipedal alien allies of yours in half life 2, the robot thing looks like dog, the monolithic spacecraft hovering over the middle of the city is reminiscent of the citadel..
What sucks the most is that when the half life movie does come out people are gonna be like "omg wtf this stupid movie is totally ripping off spielberg!

It's directed by some guy named Neill Blomkamp and presented by Peter Jackson, not Spielberg.
Don't know much about Half Life. However, the movie looks fantastic

oh, oops, I thought I read that it was spielberg, but I guess I just saw the preview and assumed.. jackson being involved makes sense though.
Also I just saw the preview again, and omfg.. theres what appears to be a gravity gun... srsly, vavle needs to sue somebody..
And ya, dont get me wrong, the movie does look awesome.

What we need is a Diablo movie. Maybe directed by James Cameron, maybe by the guy who did Silence of the Lambs. No matter who writes/directs, it would need to be NC-17, but it would literally be the best movie ever made. Diablo could be so incredibly badass and mythical and deliciously evil

Half Life should sue District 9 because it is well known that Half Life invented a world with a unique robot, a bipedal bug alien, and a citadel looking thingy. No one has done this before.
Fallout should sue Book of Ei because they're the first people to think the world might end in nuclear war. No one has even considered doing this before.
You guys make excellent points and I value your arguments a lot. The combination of sound reasoning with your emotional fervor is inspiring and drives me to cast out all the phonies out there. I think we should start a war with 2p2, neverbeg, p5, etc because we are "the original" poker forum out there and its a well known fact that if you don't create an original idea you are a douche and the result will be terrible.

as an aside, its pretty clear that hollywood is looking for the next great well of movie scripts since everyone is hammering superheros, comic books and graphic novels pretty heavily. And since the video game industry pulls down billions, its a good bet they're going for that next.

I just saw it too. I thought it was pretty cool in the sense that it provided the big explosions and high intensity action of a summer block buster but did it in a pretty unconventional way.
As is usual though Im way more excited about the previews that I saw then the movie I just watched. Planet Zombie looks fucking amazing, and scorsseseeecci (fucking italians and thier silly spelling) is coming out with a horror/thriller/mystery sort of movie called shutter island that looks really good.

arguing with a jesus freak is less cyclical..
I did not say hes a bad actor, or that I think any of those movies are bad. Im just saying that Ive grown to dislike him because he seems to be the same person over and over. Not the same roll, not the same motivation, but the same general manurisms.. the way he talks the way he walks the way he laughs. At the same time I dont want to put will smith on a pedestal, I honestly do enjoy watching him more than denzel washington, but that doesnt mean hes the end all be all when it comes to acting, or anything close to it. The point I was looking to make is that he is overrated and for all the attention he gets there are tons of actors that are far better, and way more believable in their varied rolls.

I thought it was good, but the last 30 minutes or so was much less good than the first 90 minutes. Plot just kinda stopped and the guns came out...
