Hey guys
My gf is looking for a good digital camera as a gift for her parents this Xmas.
She would like to know what the better brands are, what she shold be looking for, etc. I'm guessing her parents will be using it mainly at parties, sporting events, etc. Nothing super professional.

I have a Canon A70, it's a great camera. Higher MP != better camera, don't buyin to that garbage. My A70 has a 3.2 MP max and it produces very clear pictures

Casios take pretty good pictures but the menus tend to be a little harder to use for beginners. Personally I really like Canon, they are a great brand that takes great pictures and is pretty easy to use. If you want something stupid easy to use, get a Kodak. If you have any specific questions PM me, I sold digital cameras for like 3 years and can answer just about anything.
