I can order one of these through the office and get the HST back. Dell has them for 15% off with free shipping. So, $594.15 Cdn to the door.

If I wait, can I or will I get a better deal?

The next best that I have seen is on eBay, but depending on shipping and possible duty charges, it will most likely exceed $600.

I jumped at the same "sale" a few weeks back. Someone (GrandMaster?) stated that he had better luck negotiating prices with a live salesperson. I ended up calling and got a price that was another $100 less than I paid for the online "sale". I paid $15 to return the first monitor, so I netted $85 from the phone call. It didn't make sense to me, but lesson learned. I ended up paying about $410 (USD) before tax and got free 3-5 day ground shipping. I'm in Texas, so I ordered it on a Thursday night and got it the next Monday. I can highly recommend this monitor for multi-tabling.

Just got off the phone. He gave me the great deal of $50 off. I told him I can get 15% from the web. He got me to hold for a few and came back with he can match the 15%, but wouldn't go lower.
Do I call back again and try to haggle with someone else, or give up on calling them?

Whoever recommended calling stated that you sometimes have to try multiple calls to get the best deal. I've been a frequent Dell customer, so they may have looked at my history and given me a deal right off the bat. Dell just had an online sale of 25% off when list was $629 USD (now $599). I think Boondock also got a deal through Fatwallet that he was happy with. If you're patient, you should be able to pick it up for 25%-30% off list.

I can't believe you guys are haggling for 50 bucks. Just go play poker and make it up. Having an extra monitor will pay for itself very very quickly.

yes, but its not only the currency exchange, I Think dell price are worse in canada/europe all together. Like inf europe I know that people can pay like 150% what we pay for dell stuff here. I dont know why this is, but it is. So while he might be paying a price thats too much for the US, it makes more sense over there.

Actually Dell is one of the better businesses for keeping prices somewhat reasonable between their US/Cdn sites. The new 30" beast is only $100Cdn more in the Cdn store then at the US one. So, it's actually cheaper.

If you look on the canuck site you will see that it lists most LCD monitors up to 20% off. The fine print shows that the 2001FP is 15% off.

As it stands, that makes this monitor $592.xx + tax, shipping and a 3 year warranty in.

I have made enough money over the last week to easily buy this, but I just can't bring myself to spend $600 on a monitor when I have other bills I could be paying.

If I can wait a month or so and save $100 or so, then I will. I can use 1600x1200 with my current 17", but it damned near pulls the eyes from my head reading the $$ under each opps name.

2 issues. 1- that's the american site (but the Canadian one has it on sale too) and 2- that is not a good monitor for 4 tabling since you will have overlap.
