So I think the time has come for me to finally replace my 15" crt monitor and get a monitor that lets me 4-table properly. Do any of you have experience with either of these monitors, and is there a noticable difference, aside from the bases? I think the 2000fp runs for a bit cheaper than the 2001fp, so if there is no real difference, then I'll probably get the 2000fp. I plan on buying from ebay (should be okay right?). Also, if you guys know of any other brand that lets you do 1600x1200, then I'd be interested in hearing about it. Thanks!

Is there a 2000fp?

If we're talking 20" monitors then you mean the 2001fp and the 2007fp. Get the 2007. Better contrast ratio, brightness and response time.

Unless you specifically want a Dell, I would recommend the Samsung 204B. Myself and many others here have them and love them.

Here's a link to the 2000fp.

No idea. They look a bit different (the base for the 2000fp is wider than the 2001fp), and I think they're made a year apart, but other than that I have no clue.

The main difference between the two [other than the 2000 looking like ass] is that the 2001 supports 1200x1600, meaning you can 4 table without overlap, which means you can 4 table "properly." Go with the 2001, its the monitor I plan on getting within the next months, and everything I hear about it [mainly on 2+2] is that its a great investment.

If someone is buying one of these for gaming though, they will be sadly disappointed. The response time is too high and you get ghosting.

I have a 2001FP and have done quite a bit of gaming and never gotten any ghosting. I have heard other people talk about that problem with the 2001FP though, so maybe the response time actually varies slightly from monitor to monitor in the series and I just got lucky. Or maybe it is just some games that you get ghosting with, but Farcry and Oblivion both run flawlessly for me and I think those would be two of the most demanding games on the market.

woah.. that computer looks like it sucks for anything but webbrowsing and poker, but even so Im tempted to get it. The monitor alone is worth more then 3/4 of the price I think.
