apparently if you watch the wizard of oz on mute while playing pink floyd's album dark side of the moon it syncs up. i heard a lot about it and people say it was amazing, and i saw it for the first time today... totally unimpressed. every once and a while the scene change or something would sync up, but for 95% of it it's just retarded. everything seems like way too far of a stretch and my expectations were high.... i was expecting to be blown away.

I've watched it, and when synced up right it is pretty cool.
It does help to be stoned, but it's not necessary.
The problem might be the expectations you've been given. I can't say how many "great" movies there are that I never got into because people built them up so much and I expected something great instead of just good. Letdowns suck.

Some of the supposed Awsomeness of this sink has to do with the songs and lyrics as well. If you aren't to familiar with Floyd then it may get missed as well. I have never had the energy to actually do this, but if it is on Youtube, I may venture in the future. There are a couple sites with details.

yeah i mean the album is sweet so i didn't mind listening to it... and jyms i did look at that site while it was playing... but still, some were a pretty far stretch and just wasn't very interesting.

When I had first heard about this I bout 10 years ago... I had been listening to Floyd religiously.... and knew Dark Side like I know gmml's mom. Inside and outside.
Sitting down to watch Wizard of Oz, i was extremely aware of what was coming next in the song, what all the lyrics were... and I thought it was very cool. The other two people that watched it with me thought it was stupid as well...
Note, i'm typically very skeptical of things that others think are awesome, but for me this got a FUCK YEA!

Nah, j/k, I've recently found a lot of love for The Ramones.
I'm sad that I find myself thinking some genres are "more worthy" (couldn't find the right word here but I guess that'll do) than other genres. For example, most techno/rave/trance/etc (no I'm not big on the difference between them) sounds like garbage to me. I don't like being on this side of the "damn kids and their noisy music" barrier. And I'm only 25. (I do listen to a pretty wide range of music, though, from boybands to black metal, so I'm not completely lost yet!!)
Here's a fact that would probably be cause for a self-ban: I've never seen the Wizard of Oz, and I have no clue whatsoever what it's about, when it's from, who is in it, etc.

i downloaded the movie with the album synced to it in one file a few years ago. i was skeptical for the first 15 minutes or so but if you watch the whole damn movie, and the album is correctly synced, it is obvious that pink floyd meant to do it and its pretty impressive. so many things line up. for serious. even when the cd repeats stuff still lines up in the movie. mad cool son. MAD REAL
