2nd round pick, Brandon Flowers. Chiefs are officially my boys now. And yes, I'm making this a sticky cuz I'm drunk. Back to the festivities!

OK, I'll spare you this time.
And yeah, I love Tapp. I thought he did pretty well last year, but the media kept talking about us needing a DE and we draft one in the first, so the team must have agreed.
Maybe there's a reason I'm not a GM.

I'm sure your support is appreciated, but the Chiefs are going to suck next year. You might want to rethink this a little, rilla.
also, when are the Chiefs on the clock for the 2009 first pick? can we just make it official now or do we have to wait until the draft is over?

Haha UG. Don't worry, you have Brandon Flowers. He'll turn everything around, just watch the youtube video.
I have had such an incredible night it's almost indescribable. And that is why this thread is a sticky. Because my night has been indescribable!

I love the Flowers pick, but seriously how can not one person in this thread mention that we stole Dorsey at the 5 spot. Then got the O lineman we would have taken with the 5 at 15. The Brandon Flowers is like the icing on the cake. This rebounding project may go faster than originally thought. Chiefs war room derserves their due this time. Carl Peterson and all.

King Carl Peterson can suck my dick.
That said, yes, I think this has been a good draft so far. But I warn you, Scott (Silly String), don't get all excited yet......we are nowhere close to the Playoffs. We're on the clock for the first pick in the 2009 draft so obviously we're not making the playoffs!

I didn't say we would go 8-8 next year. I'm just saying they seem to be picking solid players on the first day this year & the rebuilding project may go faster than I originally thought. I don't see any Junior Saviia, Sly Morris, or Greg Hall type players. Of course we won't really know till 2010 anyway.
I was glad to see that we passed on all the QB's since we'll have a Top 5 pick next year anyway. We can test drive Croyle this year and evaluate. Then we don't have to invest 25 mil into some kid that is gonna get killed behind our O-line anyway. David Carr anyone?
Oh yeah, I still hate Carl, but I feel he should get credit when due. Let's just see how many of our top picks get into camp on time. That is how I'll grade Carl after the draft.

They then traded from 17 to 15 for only a fifth-round selection and picked up Branden Albert, an elite offensive lineman. Then, the Chiefs fell into a traditional draft mode and picked an additional 10 players, including standouts like Brandon Flowers, Jamaal Charles and Brad Cottam. Quality, quantity, stars and depth, the Chiefs drafted at least six starters. This is a great example of intelligence, experience and hard work.

Okay.
So the K.C. Chiefs drafted like a monster. If I remember right, they've been pretty darn good in the war-room for the past bunch of years now.
It's the fact that Carl Peterson keeps pulling stunts like the crap he pulled with TrINT Green, or his perpensity to trade away monsters, like Jared Allen. Imagine Allen AND Dorsey AND Tamba Halii, terrorizing QB's across the nation? Now they are in the same boat they were in with Allen and Halii last year, barely containable, but containable none the less.
Give Peterson time, he'll mess it up somehow.

Xavier Adibi is a siiiiiiiiick LB. I ran into him at subway the day after the draft and congratulated him. Course Texans are mah boys!
Video evidence which states Adibi will be the savior of the franchise:

Because defense and special teams are king. And those are the touchdowns and big plays that get you to cheer the loudest.

That's preposterous. Brandon Flowers alone is good enough for 4 to 5 superbowl rings in that span.
