I have to say, I honestly thought I was going to get to watch and be involved in some interesting conversations in the FTR chat room. Maybe some more dialogue than just the postings can provide. I can sometimes log in and not see or hear someone log in most of the day(in NA time). The odd new member may log in to see what it is about. It would sure be nice to see some of the more experienced people log in and let some of the lesser lights rail a game or two, Or maybe have one of the more expert players rail a micro player at a table and watch (and critique) they're play. Is it just the time that I'm on or is it that there is no lustre to the whole community chat and people would rather use MSN or AIM.

so would you suggest going back to IRC? I haven't had it on the computer for months. I would have to find the channel and server again, which shouldn't be too difficult.

So FTR go to all the trouble of setting up a great chat facility which... the regulars/oldtimers then ignore. Thre's gratitude for you.

Get off your horse. IRC has been around longer and making the move to the javabased applet isn't a fun one. Browser based chat sucks. If it was another IRC channel that they put up, I'm sure most of us from the old would be there as well. Don't try to make it as if we use IRC instead just to be ungrateful. Anyone who has been using IRC for more than a day can see how much better it is than the java applet.
Edit: With that said, the chats they've setup with pros are awesome.
