Alright, here's the lowdown. Next year I'm transfering for my second year of University, and I'm finally going to be moving out of my parents house. So the question is, what's better: living in rez on campus or sharing a house with 4 or 5 close friends close to campus. Obviously there are advantages to each. These are what I came up with

Advantages to Rez:
-Meet new people, since this would be my first at a new Uni.
-Close to school
-Food is prepared for you

Advantages to off campus pad:
-Hosting crazy parties
-No bullshit with RA's
-Living with 4/5 really good friends (we all know each other from high school)

Of the 5 people that would be living in the house, 2 went to this school this year, so we could still find parties etc.

What do you think? Stories are encouraged, especially if they're funny.

When I was in off campus house in my second year we totally pwned the house in the last week!

We had a pool inside the house LOL, the floor was absolutely soaked then we painted a load of shit on the walls in luminous green and had a paintball war inside. We totally ruined the pad.

The guy sold the house the next year as he couldn't deal with it being f'd up again! haha

 Rez: food sucks, you have no personal space

Pad: cheaper, not sure which school you go to, but the one's I've been to you can still live ridiculously close to campus

The ONLY benefit to rez is meeting people. If you have any interests outside of school you should be able to meet people anyway. Join a club sport, party a lot, form a study group, what ever suits you. You should also be able to meet people through your friends. Just try to get out and not for a HS clic.

I lived with 7 guys for the first 3 years. We threw at least one party a month for the entire 3 years. Good times.

We set up a system where we paired up every week (with whoever you wanted). Two people cooked dinner, two people cleaned up afterwards. So for you, Mon-Wed you would cook dinner once, clean the dishes once and get 3 good meals out of it. It worked out great for us.
