i've heard of people going out to nice dinner and putting their CC in a hat to determine who will pay
some pick early and some pick after

yeah, put CC's in a hat and have the waitress pick them out.....first one picked, last one picked, whatever, that's who pays the bill.
no hat, have the waitress shuffle them behind her back and pick one or something.
fun game when you win.

I'm down like $1k lifetime is CCR and I play it everywhere, I've started offering waitresses 250% on the tip if they'll flip for it. So if I'm going to leave $10 I'll offer them $25 or nothing on a coin flip. Ofc. if they lose I always leave the $10 but it's a fun experiment.
