I'm pretty pumped for this fight and I'm planning on going to Hooters to watch it (I'm too cheap and don't have enough buddies that want to split the cost of PPV).

What time will this fight eventually go down?

Good fight I guess. Rematch maybe?

Hooters was packed. When my wife and I got there we ordered beers at the bar, I asked, "Is there something going on tonight?" The lady bartender with huge knockers looked at me like I was fucking retarded. It was funnay.

I am disappointed by the fact that Couture lost.
He put up a really good first round, and I thought (rightfully so, imo) that he had a good chance. Maybe a younger Couture would have had a good chance.

I don't think there should be a rematch. I think Lesnar takes this one 9 out of 10 times.

I hope Nog can take him out, Im not ready for a changing of the guard yet.

As a BJJ guy, good god I love Maia. He is so fucking sick. Shot -> pull half guard -> AMAZING transition to a trip -> mount -> take the back -> choke. Beautiful.

just watched the fight, awful match imo until last few seconds. Couture was unlucky to fall lightly at the end.

iono for somereason Dana couldnt get Fedor to fight in the UFC or he didnt pursue him or watever, but Fedor is fighting for Affliction and Dream (different organizations) currently.

Lesnar is a a retard of nature, its sad to see Coutore lose but on the bright side we get to see the Mir lesnar rematch or possible Nog Lesnar, which is gonna be good stuff imo. and maybe now the UFC will let Randy out so he can fight Fedor, which would still be a fun fight to see.
I post nonconstructive piss

Not really. Lesner vs Fedor is about the only interesting Fedor match-up right now. Randy doesn't have any weapons that Fedor hasn't crushed already. The best chance anyone has to beat Fedor is a larger opponent with solid striking who can control the fight with enough technical game to avoid a lightning strike submission.

Don't forget Barnett. Arlovski will be fun but he hasn't looked all that great lately.

This has already happened with the UFC and WEC. They have different weight divisions and cross promote each other's events/fighters.

Because they're both owned by Zuffa.

Or a fucking guy who fucking says fuck every fucking second fucking word fucking except fucking when he's fucking asking "if you fucking want to be a fucking ultimate fucking fighter". I have a special place in my heart for punctuation like commas and question marks and fuck, but damn.

Lesnar can't beat either Mir or Nog. Mir is just as big as him and has already submitted him like real quick once. Nog cant handle a guy that size. Remember the Bob Sapp fight? Although that is probably not a good example Lesnar is 30x quicker than Bob Sapp.

Lesner beat his ass then got caught in a heel hook from a legit elite BJJ practitioner. Those submissions aren't widely practiced because there is real danger of serious injury, so no surprise a relative newcommer to the sport didn't instinctivly know how to avoid or get out of it. Not likely to happen again. Mir will need to find a way to not get over-run by Lesner and/or find a new hole in Lesner's BJJ game.

You can't find a whole in something that doesn't exist. Kudos on knowing that heel hooks are not widely taught. At my BJJ school, you must be a blue belt+ to use kneebars or heel hooks. Typical blue belt at the school is 2 years of experience.

How many hours of heel hook and leg lock defense work do you think he put in after that fight?

Wrestlers have always been very vulnerable to leg-locks, and I'm sure he trained defending them before he fought Mir.

Also, on the topic of monopolies being bad, etc., the reason the UFC is so bad right now is because there are no fighters' unions and such. For example, the UFC released Jon Fitch today because he wouldn't sign away rights to being in video games for life. That type of shit (champion's clause, etc.) is the reason why they can't acquire Fedor, because he doesn't want to sign his life away.

Random afterthought, but the UFC is far from something like the NFL where individual teams are ran as businesses, etc.

That type of shit (champion's clause, etc.) is the reason why they can't acquire Fedor, because he doesn't want to sign his life away.
this makes me really sad.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

i so hate competing federations in things like this. i want to see one first place, not several 'first places'.
i really dnt give a shit about the UFC events lately (besides the ultimate 08 card), but Dream has been kickass so far, hopefully the UFC doesnt buy it out and Dissolve it like with what they did to Pride.
Affliction is good to if they get rid of that live concert shit
I post nonconstructive piss
