It seems a lot of FTR peeps play counter-strike, probably on west coast servers. Anyone want to try and play together sometime? What servers do you play at?
I've not played in a few months, bu I'll be receiving a new video card within the next few days, and I plan to start playing again.

I am actually in a Counter-Strike clan. It's not your typical 14-year-olds' "hey, let's call ourselves a clan" clan... mostly 30-somethings (and older) that like to keep clean, friendly, not-too-competitive servers to relax on after work.

I used to be an XBOX maniac until I started playing online poker. I just got tired of all the cheating. So I figured I'd rather earn some extra cash. When I did play though I was a Rainbow Six player. The best FPS if you ask me. I heard a rumor of a Poker video game going to XBOX. Imagine that!!! Would be a matter of time before they discover a way to cheat at that too.

I used to play Counter-Strike too, just about every day. I've maybe played once since I got into online poker...
Now if Counter-Strike would pay off every time you had a kill, then maybe I'd go back!!

Ty,
I think that is the next evolution of video games. A game where it pays you if you do well, like a role playing game, where if you gather treasure you can exchange it for real money.

Actually it has already has been done. There was a site a while back where you could play Quake III for money. I forget the name of it.. And who knows if it still exists.
I don't think it was a $/kill thing, it was more like betting with somebody that you would beat them in a deathmatch.

Oh yeah it still exists and for counterstrike too. You each wager a certain amount of money and then play either 1 on 1 or I think you can go in teams too. One of the sites I believe is www.ultimatearena.com The rake was like 30% though so I never did it. I used to play counterstrike 8 hours a day for like months and months. I love that game but I also have played like once if that since I started poker. And that rake was 30% of the total not the wager amount. When each person bets 10 if you win you only get 14. Hardly worth risking 10 to win 4. This was like a year ago or so so it could have all changed.

Downloaded the map pack and hopped on a KORT server over the weekend. I got a very decent ping, and the style of play was good. I'll definitely be on when I need a break from poker.
I was unfamiliar with the maps though. I was primarily a dust/dust2/amazon/assault/militia guy. I'll just have to constantly follow other people for a while.
Whats up with this DOD mod everybody seemed to be playing? Army guys or something?

Goin just way off topic here, but somebody actually did a study of how much 1 platinum piece in Everquest is worth in real dollars. He based it on how much money everquest items and accounts were selling for on e-Bay. He found that the platinum piece is worth about 1 cent US.
Ok, just dug up the article: http://www.walrusmagazine.com/articl.../1929205&tid=1
