Computer science is not complex. By definition computers have to follow logical steps so you never need to go higher than first level thinking. Computer science is difficult because of the sheer volume of stuff there is to learn, but none of it is conceptually very difficult. If it was then computers wouldnt be able to do it.
If you want to go into the real deep physics of how the different components work then it can start to get complex but otherwise its all pretty straight forward imo. Just LOADS to learn and remember.
edit: Im not saying computer science is easy. It just isnt. Theres a hell of alot to learn. I just dont think any of it is particularly complex.

Artificial intellegence programming is not just 1's and 0's.
Both are very difficult. But being a software developer, I can say that poker is more difficult then is software.

poker is easy.. all you have to do is get money in when you are ahead and get out when you don't (unless you have odds). simple.

So, since you haven't retired yet, you must be the fish

I manage to earn several thousand pounds a year doing IT/software development stuff but I've yet to earn more than a few hundred playing poker.
There you go - that well reasoned argument should put your mate in his place.

<Jessie May>Try reading that poker face.
<Grub Smith>There's a lot of face to read. It really is a big head.

Exactly! His arguement went something like well there are only 52 cards in a deck and only so many situations that can occur in poker once you know the odds and probabilities its simple
HA! Then he was like subnets are ifinite! I am like the situations you come across in poker are infinite no two are the same therefore, making it more complex!

There are more complex problems in computer science than there are in poker but obviously basic computer programming is simple (as is beating low stakes poker). Higher stakes poker gets more complex but doesn't come close to the more difficult computer science problems.
