So we are now allowed to publicly call someone out? This doesn't seem healthy at all.
"Big X, I think you should give a strike to rilla because he made a post about how he doesn't like how you run the forum."
What good is this going to accomplish? Seems like flame wars will take over the stupidity.

This is not a democracy. Let the admins admin and the mods mod.

Since members were banned for rules after the fact, can members that were banned for "calling out" members to be banned now also get unbanned?
only seems fair

Couldn't prolonged behavior found offensive by the general community be reported with a PM to one of the mods, instead of putting up polls to decide if one poster is out of line?
I don't think it will be helpful to allow people to publicly call for discipline.

Meh, I'm indifferent towards that change personally. I tend to lean towards liking the new rule (or lack of a rule rather) because I have this idea that 'more open discussion > less open discussion', but I also realize that I probably put too much faith in the value of open discussion, so either way really I'm okay with this change (or lack thereof).
But I really dig the other rule change. Seems much more fair this way, and also better writes into code the spirit behind what's required to maintain a pleasant community.

Guys, it's actually not that complicated. Know how they say people who haven't done anything wrong have nothing to hide? It's similar.
If you haven't -- deliberately, repeatedly, and pointlessly -- made a bunch of extra work for the admins and mods, you're generally good to go.
Take that energy that you want to spend splitting hairs over the rules, and use it to say something useful or interesting.

Seems easy enough to me... enjoy your time at FTR, and not worry about it?

I would like to point out I may have been out of line in some of the tyraids against a few and I'm sorry. But in conversations I had with several of them they became more and more anavailable to talk to reasonably and I got a little carried away with their type of behaviour instead of the high road. It will not happen again.

Don't believe that. It's a guilt-trip the government puts on you to justify them chipping away at your right for privacy.

We don't see this nearly enough.
LeFou, you're right. It's not a big deal. All the flaming this week really irritated me. When things calm down again, like they did after Martial Law, it will be like nothing ever happened.
If I ever develop an issue I'll still take care of it privately because I believe that is the high road. I think I'm worried I might join the lynch mob next time "because I'm allowed to", even though I don't like it (it being a lynch mob).

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

Eh, had to change that one.. otherwise half of FTR would get a strike from the 'Lets settle this' thread.
