Hey guys..
I'm a regular member of WPTFan.com and have checked out this site a few times and rather like it.
WPTFan.com has had a couple "matches" against PPSG with roughly 20 players a side and a points system to gather who is has the "better" contigent of players, or atleast for that night. 
This is just a for-fun thing and the matches so far have been great with good competition.
I was wondering if FTR would be interested in having a match with WPTFan.com. And if so, how many players could you supply?
It would be nice to have upwards of 50 players in the tourney. ($10+1)
Anyways, I guess you can consider this a challenge... 8-)

You said you're a "member" there. I would think this sort of proposition would come from an Administrator of the site (or at least be supported by one).
If there's enough interest here and over there, perhaps we can organize something. But please have an Administrator from wptfan.com chime in here to legitimize this.

This could be interesting. It might also be good if we take our top 10 league finishers to go against 10 of the top wptfan.com players.
Of course we would need to do something to make sure there is no collusion.

I would hope that in the spirit of the game there wouldn't be any collusion. You'd think that someone interested enough in the game to belong to a message board or group would have enough respect not to do something like that. But then again you never know.
I think it's a very interesting proposition though...

Hey guys. I understand the suspicions of advertising and such. We're pretty paranoid about it too.
The site is actually owned and was created by Andy Bloch, whom I'm sure you've all heard of/seen on tv.
Although, he doesn't chime in much other than the odd reply. He's sort of let the site run itself with a great fan base.
This is legit, and we do have a league with 2 weekly tournaments in which we could have the top 10 play, and make it an *ultra* competitive match. Our Leaderboard for anyone interested is http://homepage.eircom.net/~nicky_od/index.html.
I can't really think of any mods or admins on the site to "verify" the challenge, although I'm sure I could get some regulars to come post. I haven't actually even mentioned it on our site but I know we'd be up for the challenge... :P

As for the collusion issue, in our past matches there were no problems whatsoever.
Like mentioned before, anyone who has enough interest in the game to visit these sites regularly, probably isn't going to be tempted to do something like that.

I think $10+1 is standard/reasonable.
Although we can raise it if there's much interest for it.

I think this sounds like great fun, and I'm sure our regulars here are very interested in this challenge. I know I am.

if collusion is an issue it is easily solved by making it a heads up touney. There still could be a points system of course, just like the ryder cup.
