I just went and saw this movie tonight...I'm not the biggest Micheal Moore fan being he preaches screw you corporate America but then makes big budget movies for profit. I thought it was especially funny to see the Weinsteins as the producers.
Either way, no matter what my opinion, movies like this always make me sad. Just based on the fact that there is more truth to them than not. It really makes me look at the country I live in and realize that I am nothing more than a number and the tax $ I give away. Which in turn just makes someone else rich ie bailouts.
People used to tell me I wasn't patriotic because I would never stand for the Pledge of Allegiance or take off my hat for the Star Spangled Banner. But I never feel as unpatriotic as when I am sitting in front of a screen hearing and seeing someone else show me the real world I currently occupy and whats even worse is there is nothing I can do about it no matter how much I want to.
Oh, BTW the movie is ok. I'd wait till dvd.

Bill Maher said that this film includes super rare footage of FDR stating that no person should earn more than 20k a year. Sounds very interesting

TBH I don't remember this scene specifically. I do remember the footage of him giving his State of the Union where he talks about introducing a second Bill of Rights. Overall though, there was footage I haven't seen from past presidents. I also learned a little more back story on Reagan.

A Curacao passport would be much better, as you would not need a Visa to travel to anywhere on earth, except to the good old US of A. And easy to get too (the passport, that is).
But you got to admire the guy for standing up for his beliefs, rather than accepting the status quo being shoved down his throat.

I don't know enough about the laws there, but would throw Antigua in the mix too... nice country and once you own land/property there it can never be claimed by the government (no emminent domain)... at least according to the cab drivers there.

not sure if this is the same one, but theres something very similar to this somewhere in central/southern illinois. The first time I saw it I almost pissed myself. I was coming over a hill and the sky was a brilliant blue with these majestic towering clouds. It had just rained a while ago and you could see beams of light streaming threw the clouds off in the distance. As I was saying right as I come over this hill, bam, there is this gigantic white cross smugly mocking the height of the tree line.
When I got closer I realized that it was some sort of frame structure covered in what appeared to be siding. I laughed.
edit: just googled it and ya thats the one in illinois. I hope I become a billoinaire so I can buy out a plot of land on the other side of the highway and build a massive darwin fish that dwarfs the cross.

LOL, hilarious how fast this thread got derailed. Anyway, I don't believe a word Michael Moore says. The guy is a propagandist of the worst stripe.

Actually Moore isn't a propagandist of the worst stripe. That's just something the real propagandists say, and those who listen to propaganda repeat

He fakes scenes, edits interviews for people to have their words taken out of context, and seemingly goes out of his way to distort the truth.
And he gets paid for it.
