ok, maybe 'replica' watches would sound better. So basically, I have a TAG that I paid somewhere around $2k for (from licensed dealer), and while I really like it, it's not worth anything near that me anymore. I guess going out and dropping another 1k or 3k or 5k or 10k on a nice watch doesn't appeal to me really, but I want to get another watch or two.

Hence, I might as well do what everbody else does but nobody admits to and get a good fake. Anybody have any experience with this? There are tons of sites out there selling fake watches and while it would be somewhat paradoxical to call these 'reputable', there certainly are reputable ones out there and I don't have a problem spending a few hundred bucks on a good fake rolex, TAG, or whatever. Basically I don't wanna spend $300 and get a fake that you could get on the streets of any major city for $20.

I always thought it was silly to spend 3K on a watch. I highly recomend getting a less expensive one. Same goes with sunglasses.

It doesn't have to be a high quality time-piece. I'd also like it to not be a COMPLETE P.O.S., but maybe I'm asking a bit too much. The bottom line is a drunk chick at a bar isn't going to know the difference, and I'd even speculate that nobody that's posted in this thread could tell the difference between a real, high-end watch and a 'good' fake.

You seemed to have liked my watch, Lukkake... (unless you were complimenting me at the poker table in Vegas only to milk a compliment about your watch out of me).

It's a non-fake Gucci I got for $750 at Costco (at the time, retailed for $1400, as I saw it at a fancy dept store after I got it). But I'm not so into more expensive brands for the namesake. I just like what I like.

If you know someone going to china thats a pretty good place to get some quality fake stuff. A buddy brought back a fake rolex which looked pretty good. (not that I could tell the difference though)

I honestly don't remember that re: vegas, but I was at the mall the other day and I happened to be looking at a gucci that I thought looked really nice. It was something like 1400? and i got them down 20%. I was really close to buying it but I figured I'd look around some more and if I wanted it, I'd go back next week.

Come on, sack up and buy a Roley. You won't lose much on your investment since Rolex controls their pricing and demand extremely well. The resale market for Rolex's has always been extremely good. You even said you can easily cover the cost.
Tags, Gucci's, Omega, Bvlgari = Watch.
Rolex = Timepiece.
A watch will depreciate quickly like a new car, a timepiece will hold it's value better like fine jewelry.
If you don't want to buy so you can change watches often, you should see if you can find a leasing program or club to lease timepieces and "borrow/trade" them.

Don't women see flash watches as even bigger penis substitutes than flash cars? At least you can have fun in a speedy motor. A watch just tells the time.

I think youre looking into the wrong solution for the problem at hand. You dont need to spend hundreds of dollars on some fake watches to get laid by chicks at bars.

all good points. There are some issues though.. first I don't want to have a watch where I need to obsessively take care of it. Like if i ding it up, I'd rather do it to a watch that cost 10% as much. Same if it ever got stollen or I got mugged. Plus once I buy something, it usually never gets sold. I'd rather just get my 4k put away in an IRA and buy a good swiss fake, that seems like a much better investment than buying a real rolex.

because for all intents and purposes (as they apply to me), i'm failing to see how a real rolex is any different than a halfway decent fake rolex, minus the extra $5k+ i'd be out.

also, after burning through money like paper the last couple years, i'm trying to be a bit more frugal (read: less ballin') with my purchases.

but if youre trying to trim back on the wastefull ballin (oxymoron?) then why fake the funk? Just live man. When youre true to yourself, life is so much easier. So, yeah, stick to the script, tone down the ballin.

I think the only time this would be acceptable is if you arent embarassed by it. If you openly would admit its fake and not try and put on a charade pretending its a real rollie to impress. However Ive hung out with you and gotten smashed with you, and Ive seen you wandering around senior frogs shoving your watch (or I think it was actually gabes) in bitches faces saying "Im lukieplaya! Im a professional poka playa" or something to that extent. I just feel if youre gonna do this, atleast have the real thing.

I'm looking for a good quality fake watch too and this statement is sorta like a half truth. I wouldn't care about letting my good friends know its a fake but if someone commented on my watch no way would I say oh yea I got it real cheap too, its a fake. And nothings more baller than walking into a bar and blinding people with the diamonds on your timepiece.
Flopping quads and boats like its my job

gah... now we are getting into the fake diamonds category. You just look like a fool if youve got a fake that represents something way out of your price range. So if you get a fake that is covered in diamonds, people will just think youre a douche bag.

As for it being a half truth, well then youre half livin in gabe termonology. Im not saying youd have to go out of your way to let people know, but I just think its silly to have a fashion accessory force you to live a lie.
