What's simple and painless way do burn AVI and WMV to DVD? I don't have any programs for burning to DVD on my computer at all. Will Nero 8 work well enough? I have it on disc. What's out there?

I've used imgburn recently to burn images, was very nice, would use again
Are you just burning, or are you trying to author a DVD that loads in your player? That's different.

Torrented a few AVI's and want to watch them on my DVD/PS3. I have a never actually burned to DVD disc.

yes you can use nero 8. just choose create and edit tab
-author edit and capture video icon
-make a dvd
-dvd video
- import file from wherever it's at
- and then i usually choose to skip intro and then just burn it. nero will automatically recode the format
