I didn't actually say that as a categorical statement, only as a factor.
We know that the brain continues to mature up to around age 25, and that one of the largest areas of development is the prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for judgment, decision making, planning, etc. We know that teens are lacking in those due to simple brain development and chemistry. It is in no way wrong to claim that a partially formed prefrontal cortex plays a role in teenagers making decisions that to adults are silly.

I clearly stated an understood scientific fact that youths and young adults do not operate on the same level as adults in the realm of judgment. What we see as adults doesn't matter; it's what they see that matters, and what they see is simply different than what we see because their brain chemistry is different.
This is standard stuff. There is tons of documentation that shows that young minds are much more inclined to be taken advantage of sexually in private than to be embarrassed publicly. As we mature, we shift towards the opposite.

Dude.. wtf? I would be just as grossed out by a woman that I did not want to have sex with blackmailing me as I would be by a guy I didnt want to have sex with (all guys, save for p.a. and christian bale ldo.) It just so happens that in general (yes Im making a generalization) women are pickier about who they want to have sex with and I feel that this skews your opinion.
And on your last paragraph... did you even read the article? The kid blackmailed people into having sex with him. This is illegal, whether the victim is of age or not.

manipulating someone to have sex with you is absolutely wrong, but I have to go with Renton here. I'd be much more inclined to have sex (or do dirty stuff) with one of my female co-workers, which there aren't many even decent-looking ones to choose from, than *any* of my male co-workers. I just don't think I'd ever be able to do it, no matter how bad the blackmail was.
That said, kids are kids and there are a lot of valid points here about how easy it is to manipulate them, so I can, at least somewhat, see how this happened.
p.s. yeah I would be grossed out by a woman that I did not want to have sex with that was blackmailing me, but not as much as a guy doing the same thing.

1) who the fuck says they were forced into having sex? - giving someone a handjob, or even just having someone watch you jack off is considered a felony in WI.
2) Homophobia is one of those funny things where it is really easy to say "I would never do ANY sexual act with another person of my sex" because you don't want ANYONE to consider you to be a fag because of how sexually insecure most teenagers are. So it doesn't strike me as odd at all then when someone dangles naked pictures of your small dick, or your hairy balls, or threatens to post them as gay self porn... it becomes pretty easy to put all that shit aside with the hopes that giving (or very possibly receiving) the unknown sex act will keep that shit in the dark.
