Any genre, i prefer hip hop and some rnb stuff. Do like a fair amount of rock stuff etc.
Interested in hearing some alternatives, doesnt matter the genre coz i can love anything with a cool sound.
My preference for 2009;
Brother Ali - Us
Other;
Eminem - Relapse (overhyped and fairly poor, hate his accent on some tracks, see if no. 2 will be better)

Best of Bootie 2008. 2005-2007 are at the bottom of the page. If you like hip hop, there is a ton of good stuff here.

I was really looking forward to Eminem's relapse CD. And was so dissapointed. So dissapointed in fact, that it's the only album this year that I purchased.
IT RUINED ME.

Anyone heard the new Pearl Jam album? I onle heard 3 tracks on the Zane Lowe Show, they were all live tracks, but they were pretty dam good, and one of them was awesome. His voice is still amazing. Haven't got round to getting the album, but on the strength of those 3 tracks it sounds good.

i found myself pretty underwhelmed by the new pearl jam album. don't dig the power pop style too much. it's listenable, like 3/5.

+ 1 Million in awesomeness to Americans who like the Arctic Monkeys. Saw them on Letterman or some such back in the early days and the audience just looked dumbfounded.
Fluorescent Adolescent is one of the finest pop songs of the past few years. 'Mardy Bum' and 'A Certain Romance' are others that people should check out.
Anyways, the main highlight I have from this year you won't have heard of and won't be able to get hold of so it's pointless me posting it.
What's Jay Z's new one like?

Jay-Z's new album isn't bad at all. One of my favorites of his. For starters, the song "Venus VS. Mars" is simply amazing...his similes/metaphors make for a good song. "Young Forever" is one of my other favorites. All other songs are good songs...I'd say it's worth a pick-up.

The only album I really enjoyed this year is White Lies and Dark Times from Ben Harper, but the one I'm really waiting for is Distant Relatives by Damian Marley and Nas.
And it's impossible for a band as great as Nirvana to have been overrated. You can't overrate the greatest.

Why? He takes up a lot of decent causes and donates tons of money to charities. Plus he doesn't do anything to please people so he can be the big pop/rock star. He simply makes music he likes and plays it for his fans.
Not trying to sound like the super fan boy. Hate him if you want. I was just genuinely curious because I've never known someone who doesn't like Pearl Jam to hate them because of him. Most non-fans still think he's a good guy.

something about british rap just doesnt go down well with me, cant stand any dizzee song and kid cudis night and day song is so awful and gets tons of airplay. Only british guy i semilike is tynchy but he cant really rap, more like full on rnb and has a decent beat.
dont know blue scholars.
Had artic monkeys first album I think, was pretty good alright. may check out their new one.
Nas and Marley COULD be cool but best wait and see. JayZ new album is okay but just okay. Young forever is cool but a massive sample.
